Like a swamp ****
it grows in the boiling water of saucepans.
That seems to be the only way people cook it.
It's slimy and soggy
and tastes of death.
The corpse of a once thriving plant,
now in the coffin of the saucepan.
Disgusting.
Revolting.
Why would anyone see that ditch ****
and think,
"Looks edible!"
Obviously they were very wrong.
Prompt to write the opposite of an ode for food that we hate.
Inside . . .
my frozen heart your love resides
a sunset kept by timeless sighs
my how it's surrounded by my lies

Midnight hour . . .
finds me on the edge of poetry
with paper hearts that be
the chains of your memory

Yet . . .
I reach into my heart
to warm the hands that are so stark
the love that has made it's mark .

Forgiveness . . .
I ask only this of you
but my pleas are more than the stars above the blue
More than the number of drops of dew

Twilight . . .
filters through my minds eye
as the time now turns to fly
I turn to night , cold , goodbye

Ooo how to describe the feeling
The feeling that I get
The feeling that I get
When I'm with you
We've been to the Garden of Eden
And seen God
Seen the snake that played Eve
And came back
With roses and flowers
Plants that smelled like blue berries, asparagus and mushrooms
That was our Ezekiel,
Better yet our Genesis

We’ve been to the coast were they still Harlem shake
Except they shake their whole bodies like if they caught seizures
We laughed at their moves
But skilled one had to be to shake like that
As if they had 100 grams of sugar in their system
They went at it for two or three, on what felt like days
We were almost left behind
How can we forget we almost missed that plane
Since we barely slept

Let's take a trip far from memory lane
One that can only be remembered by the pictures we take
I found this new place
Is supposed to be great
They say is the second best thing next to heaven and we both been near that
Is like one step forward and two step back
Let's take a trip
I promise it'll be first class
Whole poem is a metaphor.
