Who wants love?
We're all in a race for hate
No peace, no love
Is this supposed to be our fate?

Perfect little kids,
With smiles on their face,
But when they're alone,
Demons fill every space

Please our parents,
please society
Please, make it stop
Demons, cry for me

When will this end?
When our lives are spent?
When there's nothing left,
Except scars on flesh?

Something as simple as trust,
Can make a relationship combust.

Food for thought
I loved you in the morning, our kisses deep and warm,
your hair upon the pillow like a sleepy golden storm,
yes, many loved before us, I know that we are not new,
in city and in forest they smiled like me and you,
but now it's come to distances and both of us must try,
your eyes are soft with sorrow,
Hey, that's no way to say goodbye.
I'm not looking for another as I wander in my time,
walk me to the corner, our steps will always rhyme
you know my love goes with you as your love stays with me,
it's just the way it changes, like the shoreline and the sea,

but let's not talk of love or chains and things we can't
untie,
your eyes are soft with sorrow,
Hey, that's no way to say goodbye.
I loved you in the morning, our kisses deep and warm,
your hair upon the pillow like a sleepy golden storm,
yes many loved before us, I know that we are not new,

there is enough treachery, hatred violence absurdity in the average
human being to supply any given army on any given day

and the best at ****** are those who preach against it
and the best at hate are those who preach love
and the best at war finally are those who preach peace

those who preach god, need god
those who preach peace do not have peace
those who preach peace do not have love

beware the preachers
beware the knowers
beware those who are always reading books
beware those who either detest poverty
or are proud of it
beware those quick to praise
for they need praise in return
beware those who are quick to censor
they are afraid of what they do not know
beware those who seek constant crowds for
they are nothing alone
beware the average man the average woman
beware their love, their love is average
seeks average

but there is genius in their hatred
there is enough genius in their hatred to **** you
to **** anybody
not wanting solitude
not understanding solitude
they will attempt to destroy anything
that differs from their own
not being able to create art
they will not understand art
they will consider their failure as creators
only as a failure of the world
not being able to love fully
they will believe your love incomplete
and then they will hate you
and their hatred will be perfect

like a shining diamond
like a knife
like a mountain
like a tiger
like hemlock

it is simple actually, do not over complicate it.
  I love you.
You love me.

We have spent too much time, too many years making it more than that.

I do believe
Tonight, more than all others
The distance pierces my soul
A deeper depth
For each mile apart
A thousand punctures through
Still, after the red gums black
What is left
To course through my emptied veins
Is nought but you
The very life within me
The very beat of my heart
Your sweet breath
My only air
'Tis love that bridges the distance
But pain flows in rapids beneath
With you souls soar with angels
Anticipation of your return
Leads each day
As my smile is painted
With the memory of your own
Traversing the bridge
A tricky feat on stormy nights
The rain sparkles like diamonds
The moonlight never more beautiful
As in their reflection
Feeding the river
Yet, somehow, fortifying the bridge
Love is rooted deeply
Bound in eternal light
To a world tinged in darkness
A beacon within
Home is always in sight
If just out of reach
With eyes closed in slumber
United in bliss
Wrapped in the last time
Living for the next time
As much as it can be called living
Being stabbed by each
Of a thousand miles
61615
Missing you painfully
you and I stood in
silence

our hearts joined
as *one
Poem for my wife Jocelyn
we're born into this life, to live to die
before the north meets south
as we peddle fast moving past
all that we're allowed

rely on luck, call it a bluff
bowing down before our sacred cow
but never is it quite enough
all that we're allowed

we make our beds as we take the hand
to late we find it out
hoping when we land that it's soft sand
into all that we're allowed

before the fall we had it all
then riddled ourselves with doubt
when over time we moved the line
of all that we're allowed

we place our bets on so much less
as frenzy feeds the crowd
expect the top to have a drop
from all that we're allowed

we've made a mess of this no less
as we took the task to town
and what we found without a doubt
 is all that we're allowed

we all love love but it's not enough
as we wonder what that's all about
we lose our heads as we all fret
over all that we're allowed

we pay later the undertaker
to dig a hole in the ground
but he only bothers six feet under
because it's all that we're allowed

glassea
she may hurt, but she is not pain.
she may fail, but she is not a failure.
she may be tragic, but she is not tragedy.

*she may feel worthless,
but this, too, will pass.
so it's always worth reminding people (i.e. myself) that just because you feel something in the moment doesn't mean that it's permanent. an emotion is an instant, no matter how long the ache lasts, and an instant cannot define you.

(thanks for the daily!)
