Build your castles in the air
Lock in the magic keep it there
In your fortress of tales untold
City streets are paved with gold
Girls with green hair, mermaid struck
Are bound to bless your day with luck
The man with briefcase on the bus
Hides wings of golden angel dust
Enjoy the conversations heard
The variations of the word
The power of the spoken truth
The reckless in the throes of youth
Living in your imagination
Life becomes your own creation
Let not the doom and gloom abound
Sorrow be lost, joy be found
Listen to the sweetest songs
Let your truth right all the wrongs
It’s not real others may say
Life’s yours to own; live it your way
When the darkest shadows come
Turn them into bright sun beams
Safe in the castles of your dreams
Remember the beauty of night scented flowers
Remember the shadows cast on leafy bowers
A mysterious cloak falls, day shift is ending
Power arises as dark is descending
Reawaken old magic, dance to the rhythm
Rejoice in your role, the heart you were given
The bards and the ancient ones calling the runes
The witches and warlocks dancing their tunes
This is the light of the night of strange things
Of faeries and ghosties, creatures with wings,
In misted guise the Earth is transforming
As in the distance begins a new dawning
It’s a hidden world, a twist to the tale
As slowly but surely up hill and down dale
The night scented flowers return to the deep
Their day time companions awaken from sleep
No human can know all the things that go on
When Earth closes her shutters, daylight is gone
So remember the beauty of night scented flowers
Fragrant moon blossoms, rejoice in the power
Welcome it, everyone, with open hearts,
from feathery wings of angels;
Its clarity washes away each tear,
and blankets us from all angles.

The evergreens swathed in oyster white,
exquisitely aligned with holly berries;
Which light up the yard in rosy glow,
and comfort us from our worries.

No longer alone the cardinals fly,
and meet their mates high above;
Cheerfully sitting upon the branches,
nestling together with wintry love.

Gracefully floating through the air,
like delicate lace from times long ago;
While we watch this glorious solstice scene,
enchanted by the sight of first snow !
Your touch keeps me awake at night,
its depth is like an angel's wing;
Light as a feather yet burns with desire,
you have always been my everything.

From first we met in the dawn of day,
the summer sun glowing strongly;
Your eyes sparkled like the ocean's waves,
I had never felt such intense longing.

Now it's Autumn and we're still together,
tied in knots of faded bittersweet berries;
The memories captured now in sheer delight,
our hopes are glorious with no time for worries.

We're off on a journey to stake our claim,
the winds will soon shift in our direction;
We'll never be lost as long as we live,
every day is filled with love and affection.
I found this among my older pieces...it was an "homage" to my husband and our everlasting love. I could change it, but I'll keep it short and sweet !  FEM

I Think

I think I’d rather be your friend
Than your wife
You speak to your friends all the time
You laugh on the phone
And share ideas
And secrets
While
As you wife
I clean
And cook
And take care of you
And miss out
On all the joys of being your friend
So
I think I’d rather
Be your friend
i have a little cat she just love me so
likes to follow me everywhere i go
always there behind me tail up in the air
no matter what i do she is always there

follows me up stairs while going for a bath
tries to pop the bubbles it always make me laugh
then down the stairs i go.  switch on my tv
jumps upon my chair sits upon my knee

when i go to bed shes there my side
underneath the covers she will gently slide
then falls fast asleep lying next to me
best friend in the world there could ever be
Silence is golden
Take a look through the blinds
Snow is falling
How quiet it is when snow starts falling.

I have found peaceful sleep on concrete floors
Where my desires have been needs
And had restless nights on feather soft beds
Where dreams of wants have piled with greed
They ask how people become mad
And I tell them
Look, like this
By doing business with dreams

a hand
you gave me a leg
and tripped me
till I fell flat
on my face

When I needed
a shoulder
to cry on
you gave me yours –
cold
to rely on

When I needed
a mirror
to reflect my light
you smashed it in pieces
all over the floor
throwing the frame
in an empty drawer

When I needed
a friend
you were a stranger
and stranger still –
I stuck with you
