Before, certain places we’ve driven past or visited

Places not holding special moments

Not holding special memories

You might enjoy those places

But they are simply places you know of

During, you visit these places with someone special

The places start to have meanings

You laugh, smile, play, eat and drink

You start to make it a hangout place

You make it somewhere you love going

The places become familiar

They become special

You make moments in to memories

Suddenly becoming an “us” place with that other person

After, those places are not the unfamiliar places

Like in the before stage

When they were simply just places

The places now are not special and meaningful

To both people anymore

The “us” places are now tarnished and cracked

You drive by and try to visit those places

The places can’t be visited and driven by in the same way

Your heart feels it differently now

The places have become in limbo status

Of still remaining scared but also damaged

You must simply force your heart out of limbo

Oh, how brutal it is letting it fall

But these are only places after all

Take me to those places where I first learned that I could love. In school yards, and in churches, car rides, Longhorn's, and smoky music clubs. These places feel so empty now that we're telephone lines apart and I'm alone.

Take me to those places where I first learned I could hurt. Phone calls on my bed, the last of car rides on the road. The street where we last embraced before I left and headed home. These places feel so empty now that we're telephone lines apart and I'm alone.

Take me to those places that I first learned I had hope. On couches watching movies and those places I wrote poems. In Rome, where we saw zebras. And that mountain path we got lost upon. These places feel so empty now that we're telephone lines apart and I'm alone.

Take me to those places that I had happiness. All those places in time that we had shared before you left. And when you come back, we would share some more time in places I won't regret. But then those places will feel empty when we're telephone lines apart and I'm alone again.

Dry Places
Bheki Mungwe Jun 2016
Nobody enjoy dry people
Not me, guess not you
Dry places belong to dry people
Dry people belong to dry places
Dry people never find
Time to smile,
To love,
To greet,
To enjoy,
Nor to beauty.
Dry places belong to devil
Ain't dry places belong to GOD
Ain't dry people have time
For you, for me, for GOD.
Dry places belong not to waters,
Waters belong not to dry places,
Free indeed belong to waters,
Waters belong to free indeed,
Water is life
Dry not life.
Dry places nobody enjoys,
Nobody enjoys dry places,
Nobody enjoys dry people,
Dry places belong not to
Poetry heart.
Dry places are destinations where you never find peace, like dry people are sad, unhappy so nobody enjoy been around sad people. Not me, I guess not you.
