“One day, I’ll see you in heaven”
i held those words between
Our hands
clasped so tightly

i imagined what our heaven would be like
full of Laughter, Freedom, (F)light

(Was heaven your past?
Were you in heaven without knowing it?
Have you experienced heaven before?)

well, the hardest part is letting go
the lock broken
the gate closed
His soul captured between Our fingers.

a silent whir, hummingbird

their heart rate seems to amplify mine
as they begin to dart around the early morning sky.
the radiance of the sun starts to shine
and prompts their energy to intensify.

uninhibited by the changes in weather
its body temperature rises and falls with its perfectly defined stature.
as day and night come together
the true essence of the delicate bird is captured.

like a missile in the night
its slender beak pokes bright holes into the sky.
illuminated iridescence by the moonlight
the busy bird never pauses to sigh.

on pursuit to a new height
the hummingbird continues its jovial flight.

beneath my skin;
