I've always heard it said money don't make the man,

But if that's true why does everyone think it can?

I don't understand the driving force behind greed,

I don't understand wanting for than you need.

But I sure understand pain well enough,

I sure understand when life gets too tough.

I know how hard it is to tell yourself it's ok,

I know how hard it is to face a sad new day.

I know despair when you're running out of time.

But I do BELIEVE with faith it'll be just fine.

Cause I know that money can't buy you happiness,

I know possessions can't fight the loneliness,

I know that power can't make you powerful

And store bought friends don't cry at your funeral.

I know I don't have much but I earned all I got.

I have friends and family to be there on the spot.

A warm place to sleep safe but not alone,

And an amazing woman that I can call my own.

I've found peace inside my soul,

Because it's love – NOT MONEY- that makes a person whole…

Don't waste your life with gold blinding your eyes,

You must remember you gotta live while you're alive…

Who picked you up when you were down?

Who always laughed away your frown?

Who was the one you could always call?

Who stood by you through it all?

Who was your friend through thick and thin?

Who always tried to help you win?

Who taught you how to get high?

Who really showed you how to fly?

Who's the one you dropped so fast?

Who's the savior from your past?

Who'd you leave on their own?

Who'd you cast from your home?

The girl you seem to always forget,

Is the one who started all of it.

The one who built the circle and gave you a place to stay.

The one who fought for you and never ran away.

The one who gave up everything to help you win your war.

The same one you say you don't really care for.

She'd pick you up at 2am and hide you from your Dad.

She'd hold you crying in her arms and make you feel so glad.

All she ever asked was, "Just always be my friend."

All she ever asked was, "Stay with me till the end."

But you just went away and left her all alone…

And you're only sorry now as you stare at her stone.

Simple words etched in rock but they still break your heart.

It reads, "I gave my friends the world and they tore me apart."

You'll never see her smile again or hear her voice.

She never stopped loving you, leaving was YOUR choice.

She'll never throw another party, never smoke another bowl.

I hope something is always missing now, I hope your world won't feel whole.

She loved you and you left her for some stupid guy.

I hope it kills you to know you never got to say good-bye.

I hope you can't sleep, hope you're haunted by her ghost.

Cause the girl you never thought you wanted was the one you needed most…

As the mother lay trapped upon that bed the doctor says she's dying.

And the father sits trapped inside his head he prays the doctor is lying.

In spite of the comforting words he said that old man's heart is crying.

But amidst the terrible news of dread no one noticed the child spying.

No one saw her run away to cuddle her old dog.

No one saw depression come to cover her like a fog.

No one saw her smile darken or her eyes turn grey.

No one saw that she was slipping, slowly fading away.

They thought that she was happy with no reason to be sad.

They thought she was a fighter, tough just like her dad.

Now we'll dig two graves one right next to the other.

And that poor man had to bury his baby and her mother.

Now he walks around empty, never to find another.

No heart on earth will beat for him as it did with his lover.

He wanted to love them always and be with them forever…

Soon he will join them both…he ***** back the lever…

BANG!
I've been cleaning my house and i found an old poem. It's kinda sad but good i think.

All my problems are behind me and I've learned to carry on.
All my problems are behind me, all my troubles almost gone.
All my worries seem so old now, they've begun to fade away.
All my worries seem so pointless in the bright light of day.
Life has gotten better and I just wanna sing.
Life is looking up, I'm happy with everything.
All my problems are behind me, I don't see them anymore.
All my worries have been dropped upon the floor.
My days are filled with sunshine and my nights filled with fun.
The bad days are over and the good times have just begun…

Alcohol and anger.
Blood and broken glass.
Neighbors milling so confused,
What evil has come to pass?

Past two in the morning on a Friday night.
Drunken words spark the fight.
They go blow for blow, drop for drop.
Only the sirens made it stop.

A terrible hand dealt by fate.
A violent display of pointless hate.
Disrupting the peace and harmony,
Of our happy sanctuary.

Now our doors will be locked up tight.
And no one dares go out in the night.
Safety's been taken from our home.
We're no longer "community" we stand alone.

This is the destruction you'll always find,
When ***** fueled hate rules the mind.
This is the chaos you will always see,
From OUR gang filled society…
Written after a gang fight broke out at my apartment complex. I was 19 and it was my first apartment. I moved within weeks of this event.

Jack and Jill went up the hill,
Jack died on ***** and Jill on pills.
Mary lost her little lamb
but she just don’t give a ****.

Little Boy Blue blows a new horn,
he’s the star of animal ****.
Humpty’s crack was caused by bad smack,
and Little Bo Peep finally murdered those sheep.

Old Mother Hubbard sells shrooms from her cupboard
and Mother Goose used to be called Lady Loose.
Old King Cole like to smoke pole,
while Little Miss Muffet licked **** on her tuffet.

All the kings horses banged all the kings men,
then headed to the Caterpillar’s ***** den.
The Pied Piper dropped E in the village well
and danced all those children to techno hell.

These fairy tales I’ve tainted, they’re twisted and sick.
So read it again and hide it away quick!
Mom and Daddy will yell, this isn’t ok,
but I’ve painted the truth at the end of the day.

Life isn’t all sunshine and roses and smiles.
Sometimes it’s darkness, loose women and their wiles.
I’ve just told the truth my dear little friend,
I hope you enjoyed it but this is The End…
Just a twisted version of fairy tales

Will you still love me? A free style poem

I cut my hair today...will you still love me?
"Of course! It's just hair."

I bought new clothes today...will you still love me?
"Of course! They're just clothes."

I changed my name today...will you still love me?
"Of course! But you're still [blank] to me."

I hid my [gender specific body part] today...will you still love me?
"Of course..."

I legally changed my gender today...will you still love me?
"...sure i guess"

My name is [blank] now and I'm a [different gender]...do you still love me?
"I don't know where this came from but i just can't accept it. No i don't love you."

Why is that the breaking point?
Why is that when people are suddenly shocked?
Didn't you see the signs?
Didn't you hear me wish for this a hundred times?
Didn't you know my heart?
Weren't you a part of my soul?

Why don't you love me anymore...?
To my family who will never read this
