The study-skill of coping
A scholar learns, and teaches
Vices of distraction, dissension
Stressed in silence and speeches

We are in this together
Or so we've all been taught
We stand united in struggle
But fall separate in thought.

We each carry hidden loads
Pains and pasts of our own
We may be followed by darkness
But in the dark, not alone.

We all march on, in struggle and stride
Through tides that pull to drown
For hope that together we reach a high
Before we all break down.

our ladders aren't made of
other people that we climb
the ones we like to bury
with the passing of the time
we play with all their thoughts
like an entitlement we own
and make ourselves the thieves
of any chance of letting go
I know we're only human
but we're capable of more
than holding onto to tragedies
some other people wore
your skin is only loyal
if you choose to give it up
to everything you cannot see
but blindly choose to love
mother.

It was all over in a moment,
Everything you once hoped,
The second you saw the illusion
That the glistening mirage evoked.

Deep pools of green, chocolate, blue,
Each one a beautiful escape,
Each one designed as a cunning ruse,
The eyes meant to seal you in your fate.

Dew drops perfectly reflecting,
The geometric spiral awaits
Luring the innocent inside,
Then the guardian slams the gates.

The spider’s web and the eyes,
You go in when the trap is concealed.
Once the trap is sprung, the door is closed,
You gladly stay, the danger revealed.
An old poem from English class. It's basically a comparison between eyes and spiderwebs.

members you'll note
a new event on the club's blueprint
which was so cleverly devised
by the committee's mint

all entries are to be marked
I really crave popularity
so ensure you write this
in letters of clearest clarity

the most original piece
shall garner the prized first place
those that are too **-hum
won't receive any grace

the council of jury
want to see
compositions stating
look at only me

they should have
a bragging tag
with the lionization
of unique flag

it's time to get
your submissions in
as the competition
is there to win

of himself he had*
an all encompassing admiration
this aggrandizing love
steeped in deep fascination

his life's catch cry
arrogantly on display
none wore it with a
more qualified sashay

unto himself all glory
given supreme
some saw this as
being far too extreme

yet he'd not be humble
nor ever demure
there was a strong endearment
of own sinecure

love of thine
       for all time
love of thine
his coda's prime
love of thine
always enshrined
love of thine
so openly opined

with a conceit inflated
enraptured was he
a sure emblem
*of his doting spree
When winds at night on windows roar
wax runs out dies candle's flame
you would hear a knock upon door
a familiar voice calling your name.

Don't respond nor open the eyes
the voice is keen over winds' howl
grows it louder its pitches rise
scaring even the brave barn owl.

Pull the blanket up your head
you are safe so long you hide
lie dead quiet not move on bed
with mom asleep by your side.

Between the pause your fears mount
if is a chance to be found out
one two three the calls you count
but count it right leave no doubt.

Three times the voice would call your name
for it has no power to do any more
but move onto where dies a candle's flame
and a child is awake behind closed door.
Inspired from a story I used to hear from mom long long ago when unbelievably I was a child.

Give me a chance
To make this all right
I just can't walk away
I'll continue to fight

For you, for us
For what we once had
We can make it back to that place
If you'll just take my hand

I went off the deep end
Unsure how to swim in new depths
But I promise I can learn
We can still salvage what's left

We can build it back up
I know it may take time
But I'm willing to do whatever it takes
Please don't let this die

talk to him when he’s down
he hates to admit that he is
make him laugh when he doesn’t want to
you wouldn’t want to give that smile a miss

remind him he’s being silly
when his “space” gets to his head
but in a way he thinks its his own idea
or he’ll ignore you instead

On most days, if i’m not wrong
he’ll want to leave everything on a whim
thats when you’ll give him a hug
and tell him you believe in him

but everyday, i assure you
he’ll be able to make you smile
sometimes even one small conversation
makes your day worth the while

and he wont know how to say how he feels
he probably doesn’t even know it himself
but what he’s thinking reeks out
in every word he says

i cant be there for him
i cant love him the way he deserves to be
i’d hate anyone who hurt him
i just wish that person wasn’t me.

love him everyday, he deserves it
and make him laugh a lot
he deserves the world really,
so love him in the ways i could not.
