When will I just stop running away from Love?
Running away from Him.
And just climb into His lap,
and be held in His arms.
When?
When I am broken.

I said I love you in the field of honor
and she was like a colt, her name
like the moon caught in my throat,
she was water I held in my hands
like the canoe I worked through the river,
and she was a flash at two-thirty
in the morning of the suicidal knife,
and she was a fire of pine cones,
a butterfly that lit on the float of my pole,
and she was like the night herself.

I like being Alone, I think.
With the prospect of new people
Coming and going
Coming and going
Alone, not as dismal
Because Alone in the eyes of fear
Casts quite a different shadow
Fear is unknown, unsettled, unrest
Alone is learning, growing, comfort
But when you let those
Come and go
Come and go
With an open mind, open heart -
Alone, never
You'll never be alone
So, Alone, stop feeling the pity
Feel the strength that guides
A definition to be changed
A meaning to be blissful
On the cusp of an awakening
Alone, we're never lonely
As we know exactly who we are.

S M
you have brushed me
as daylight rose,
and each sigh
contented the air
soaked with sun-beams
through the blinds.
I am the sum of your parts,
and they are like
an aching set of tiny bones
that are crumbling
in your hands.
Don’t go away,
your gentle breath will be missed
by me and my day -
as you are the air that keeps
my lungs
heaving with reason.
With each eye-locked spiral
I fall deeper into your
chestnut coloured soul,
that swims with
endless passageways.
When I think of you...
Alone she stands...
at the bottom of the mountain.
The beginning of her journey.
Her journey to forgiveness.
She looks at the steepness of the climb,
and wonders where is the strength she'll find.
Especially when her backpack is full of rocks...
The painful memories of emotional abuse and verbal attacks.
But, as difficult as this journey will be,
she knows she must take it,
in order to be free.
Then He whispers to her soul,
"Step by step, with Me,
this is the only way to climb
The Journey to Forgiveness."

She begins her journey,
one step at a time.
One foot before the other.
With the heavy burden upon her back,
which she knows she must surrender.
She makes stops along the way.
The memories surface.
Her wounds lay open and bare.
But she chooses to forgive.
To release them of the debt.
And empties some of the rocks
from her backpack.

She continues on.
The journey is tiresome,
and oh, so long.
She is tempted to give up.
Many times.
But He keeps reminding her of the prize.
Another stop.
More rocks dumped.
More forgiveness given.
More
freedom.
And another stop.
And another.
Until finally...
her burden grows lighter.
As her soul unloads its bitterness.
She sees the top now.
Oh bliss!
She climbs faster now.
She empties out the last rock.
The biggest rock.
The largest offence.
The one that was hardest to forgive.
The one that bound her in chains.
She releases it now.
Into God's hands.
And hoists herself up to the top.

She stands now in victory!
The burden she has carried so long is empty!
She has completed her journey.
Her Journey to Forgiveness.
And is finally free.
Until tomorrow...
when begins another journey.
To forgiveness.
