 Feb 2017 precious joy
it's ok
water is gasoline
and i'm steady drinking it.

my necklace is noose,
i'm waiting to slip.

my bracelets as razors,
pressed up against me.

cigarettes as car exhaust
when i watch it fill the dead air,
i breathe deeper.

and i stop all together.
there was something about
feeling close to death.

i search for that feeling on the edge of tall buildings.

and i'm always on the edge.
It is the way you look at me
that caught my attention

Left me wondering what
is hidden behind that

I may not have any idea,
let me tell you
that for some unknown reason
I have loved it

Rain

You remind of the rain
I love the rain
The sound, the smell, the pitter patter of the raindrops
The deafening sound letting me cry out so no one will hear me
The falling raindrops touching my face reminding of tears that have already dried up
All of these I love about you
And yet you are also what gives me glum
As I knew that only when the rain stops
That my day becomes brighter

Once you told me I was your home
I gave you warmth and comfort day after day
I was your shield in any rain, any heat that may have hurt you
I may have had to get some repairs or fixes for some faults that I have
But you were still there for me not minding it
You have were the heart of this home

Were.

You left to live in another
This home has become abandoned
Windows are cracked, pipes are now creaking
Wall has become faded and the roof is now leaking
The home has become empty for its heart is gone

And yet I am still waiting
Still hoping for you to call me home again
Natural events cause natural damage
they call it “The work of God”
All the promises an insurance policy has to offer
just as many as those obstinate ads claim day to day
now have no power to bring back what is lost

*See how it is...
when people have no place to call home
a place to string families together
in the same warmth
the same beauty
of an intertwined web

Becoming who they are
they become nothing
  but easy prey...
funny how we define ourselves
clever creatures
standing tall at the very top
of the food chain

Mother Nature
possibly feels the same ordeal
the same heartache
An unnecessary one sided battle
of dislocation between
man and wildlife

Underneath the same stretched out sky
enough for all to explore
but yet people greed for more
There will never be enough land
for any population
without even coming to realise
that an abomination
of certain species
may occur

We destroy
with good intentions
Fixing mistakes with ignorant hands
The desire to feel needed
We ****
to revive

*Heaven rumbles
in absolute disappointment
ready for another round of applause
a storm to surge.
An old piece, written by me of course, at age 16 in school. Second attempt in poetry writing. Graded C ...lol
