When I think of you,
I think about what we had

And that if you came back,
I would surrender to your words

Not because you deserve
any more of mine

But because I don’t sleep
from thinking about holding your hand

I don’t eat
from thinking about the outline
of your lips
and how much I loved their shape

I don’t do anything anymore
because you decided to change
the way you wanted to spend your summer

And it wasn’t with me

I would take you back
because I have to,
because I need to,
because I don’t have the strength
to say goodbye to you
a second time

I lied. This one is about you too.
