There is this little girl who eternally resides deep deep inside,
Behind the face of a woman is where she continuously hides.

Sometimes she will allow herself to remember back to the days
When she was a small child and in the fields where she did play.

Her memories mostly of her buddying around with her only brother
That is all that she has left now since his life was ended by another.

Most of her memories she holds dearest to heart were with him
The memories that haunt her the most are memories of "Them"

Mother would pack up the children and run far from their father
Daddy was abusive and would beat his wife, son and daughters.

One night Mother and Father had spent a night on the town together,
When they got home a fight broke out, Daddy went outside and pulled
the trigger.

His small son & daughter in the window crying and watching with fear
There mother told them to go back to bed and try to get some rest,
Them looking confused, she said "It's just ketchup all over his chest."

After years of watching the beatings and taking some of their own
Mommy finally took all three children and left their Daddy all alone.

Daddy got better and stopped laying abusive hands on all of them
But Mommy could not handle teens and with her it all started again.
