i don't know whether the sun or moon
has a designated gender
they say "brother sun" and "sister moon"
perhaps the elements of our universe are unisex
i may never truly know
whether the sun and the moon
are better associated with a paternal
or maternal instinct
but i do know
the sun shines its glorious rays
upon all its fruitful children
each seedling of nature growing
a flower blooming
from the brilliant lips of the sun
the gentle wisdom bubbling in the rapids of the rivers
whispering in current of the brooks
the wind caressing the trees
branches embracing the atmosphere
dancing to the crescendo of the environment
the sun grins upon the world below
shedding an incredible warmth
hugging our globe
with infinite arms
and when the sun sleeps on one side of the hemisphere
the moon casts an illuminating glow
upon the vast land
sheltering each of the universe's children
from the daunting darkness of surrounding galaxies
mother nature holds the earth
in the palm of her eternal hand
just as you shall always carry our hearts
in the palms of yours
