I reread the unkempt scribbles
Of a young author's mind
Full of passion, inspiration
Seeking poems to find

I analyze the structure
Of the words filling the pages
The childish rhyme and rhythm
As ideas broke their cages

I breathe in all the color
Of every naive line
As I try to understand
That these writings once were mine
how long have you been writing?
