The sky today
is like the meal you just served

Brittle and distant in some sections
but overall palatable

Why don't we ever eat out?
you ask

Because things abruptly fall
when we least expect

Like prices and temperatures
or your basic need of me

If we go somewhere we might
meet other people

And that could only end badly
for the both of us
