Knows No Distance
Remember when you told me
we were the same inside?
But that I couldn’t believe
something too good to be true?
That’s when I knew
you could really see me.
You could see the path
as if you’d walked it yourself.
I can feel you like a pull
to the center of the earth.
That is where we
keep ourselves safe.
Because the soul
knows no distance.
And in my reverie,
I meet you down there.
