She had loved a broken boy
Who longed to be fixed
For someone to come along
And rebuild him bit by bit
For he loved people before her
But they broke his heart
Made all his soft parts ruff
Made his world turn upside down
And made him jagged and tough
So he learned that your heart can be broken to easily
His heart was too willing to be loved
It wanted to be broken gently
Slowly deteriorate
So he built walls around his heart
To protect it from the love that it longed
And found other people to think about
And different  names to whisper in the night
He tried to leave the memory of her to rot
And sometimes he wonders if she remembers
The way they smiled at each other
Or maybe she just forgot.
