You hated yourself because they said you weren't on the right track
That loving the same is a sin without redemption
You denied yourself of happiness and freedom,
Of acceptance,
Of how love can be of different forms
In different places, in different bodies
With that, you caged yourself with fear,
When you shouldn't have.

Today, you accepted that piece of yourself
You surrounded yourself with beautiful minds
You weren't following anyone's "right track"
But, still, you hate yourself for not trying hard enough.
