A beautiful song on a broken guitar;

An ache to the ear—

But remedy for the heart,

I'll keep on playing till my hands are numb;

You're the song that I still sing when the stars are gone

In your absence I realize,

What is full and what is empty

So cold and paralyzed

Without a sound, a soul is weary

I'm starting to like being in the dark,

For it is where your light shines so true

But the morning is making its mark;

I'll stay to see the other side of you

The song echoed at the walls of my heart;

My guitar gets older—

The silence gets louder

I'll play the strings 'till they tear apart

It's on repeat, but now stronger

You're that melody I'm dying to hear

Even in my dreams,

I feel you're near

This heart still sings— so true and dear

I'll play the day away,

'Till the stars again appears
