Oct 2016
It shuts me down from the inside
Turning my bones to dust
Breaking my heart into pieces
And turning my blood into rust
The light dripping from my fingers
As I turn a shade of grey
And though my body's failing
I smile, smile away
Through all the cloudy days
And all the sleepless nights
Even when I feel unable to breathe
Because my chest feels too tight
And I wonder what it feels like
To feel happy every day
And though my heart is breaking
I smile, smile away
