I thought I saw you
Yesterday
In the face of a
Stranger
As he stood
By the sea,
And the breath
In my lungs caught
Like kite strings tangling
In the boughs of trees

He had your smile
Almost,
From far away
But it wasn't
Quite the same
And I felt
The old wound
In my chest begin to
Open up again
With that familiar pain.
