In the end of May
The daisies finished blooming
Their brightest whites framed our beaten path.
I opened your sunroof and took in the light.
That night in your car
I swear it was holy
I saw solace in your eyes
I felt God that night in the sky.
But I lied and told you I didn't feel it
For I hadn't felt that way in ages,
I was scared of what was to come.
I'm sorry.
