I cried when I realized
We weren't going home
They pulled me from class
To make sure I was "safe"

My dad cried harder
My mother took us with her
And for four short weeks
We lived in a basement

"Shhh" baby girl
Here we can play
Go to school like normal
Come back a different way

In a hurried rush she had packed
My clothes, my life, my sisters too
But for that month no one knew
October hit, and that's when they split
