Witchcraft and wine
it comes so naturally,
and now that you’re mine
I’m going to actually
try my best not to lose it.
If there’s a bomb then I will defuse it.
If there’s an offer I’ll just refuse it.
If there’s a card to play I’m going to use it.
Because you’ve got me under

Your blanket of stars and mysteries,
connecting our scars and histories.
In parked cars both sighing mystically
and back to the park where I was to shy to try anything.

Sorcery and scotch
you put me in a trance.
If you took it down a notch,
I just might stand a chance
that I’m not going to lose my head,
even with my cheeks burning red
getting brighter as you quietly said
“I’ll meet you tonight in our bed.”
Depriving me of slumber

With your healing touch and cosmic skin,
I’m within your clutch and freely giving in.
It’s too much and you have yet to begin,
removing my crutch and cleansing me of each sin.

I was warned of street magicians
and cautioned with tales of gateway drugs.
To not take my eyes off no matter the conditions,
because that’s when they tend to pull rugs.
“If you fall for one,
you’ll fall for them all.”
But this time I’m done,
I think it’s last call.

With your witchcraft and wine,
you make it look so divine.
This one poured out like a rose,
within minutes cause I had so much to say.
There is a deep
Ever growing need
Where the breeze of the sea
Calls out to me

Tosses and tussles
My thinning hair
Making me wish
I was still there

What the waves have to say
In their defense
Is they’ve also missed me
Since the moment I left

Soon to return
Back to the beach
Where the breeze of the sea
Daily calls out to me

With just one ring, the world stood still,
A question asked, a heart to fill.
A whispered yes beneath starlight,
Two souls entwined that gentle night.
She was like music,
and I longed to dance.

Her heart was the beat,
and I begged for the chance.

Her words were the vocals,
and I was put in a trance.

Her smile was the melody,
and I fell in love at first glance.
I thank thee for the sun
It brightens up the darkest day
I thank thee for the rain
It feeds  trees plants and flowers in our terrain
I’m grateful for it all
The wind may call
We have it all in our summer

But in the winter
I thank thee for the snow
Because you know
I love it so

An Autumn breeze is so nice
When the golden leaves just show
And when they drop
A carpet of golden leaves will grow

But spring is beautiful
When the little lambs are born
Bouncing in the fields
Together but never fore-lawn
For years I fought something only I could see,
A battlefield etched in the silence of me.
The foe was mine, yet I could not yield,
A fight contained in an unmarked field.

I clashed with shadows that wore my face,
Each strike within left a deeper trace.
Fighting hard just to stand or breathe,
A battleground I couldn’t command or leave.

But time wore thin, the noise fell still,
The air grew thick, the ground unfilled.
No victor crowned, no flag was claimed,
Just ruined trenches and a captive unchained.

Not quite peace, but free from pain,
A quiet place where hope’s restrained.
No joy to chase but tears is no more,
Just steady breathing — after the war.
The places humans go,
Oh where to?
I wan to know.

They run in circles
But never ask why.
They've become brittle
Over time.

And if they paused,
At least just to breathe.
Maybe death's claws,
Wouldn't be a thief.

Of the time they wasted
Chasing their tails.
Have they tasted
The wind at sail?

The places humans go,
Oh where to?
I wan to know.
