lost in the lock of longing,
like a mother that never loved me rocking me to sleep
when all you can think about is
the stars in the frigid night sky
it can be hard to imagine the glow of the sun as anything but garish
but what when the stars disappear?
maybe i'll have to try to truly be happy again

I sat on the ground
And picked petals off of flowers till I felt sick.
"Please try to understand"
I whispered,
"I don't think I'll ever be beautiful again."
I am
reedlike, it almost blew me away,
but
the will o' the-wisp
kisses me nightly
tucks me in tightly
and
I am safe
for now.

she is sunday
the locks and the curls
the way she unfurls
a dimple here
a dimple there
she is sunday
the warmth in her voice
the hopes and the joys
a crack in the sky
the light makes me blind
she is sunday

i hear the violins
they're playing me out

i'm thankful for sunday

speaking of summer nights
reminds me of warm skin under dark skies
when dreams float heavy in our eyes
connecting your mind to mine
keeping my heart in line

Share with me
Give me your fledging feelings
I will shape them into something probable

And I cherish the rain
that musters under your feet
Tansy herbes of the heart
would turn you into Eve
And I as Adam drinking
the nectar of your countenance
