Today was the first day in a while that I thought
About being in your dad's garage
While you set up your lights and trusses
Trying to make a show
You explained to me how they worked
And smiled that smile when you looked over at me
While I was just soaking it all in

I remember, once, being there
Being lost with you
In that moment
Listening to blaring music
Watching your light show play on the ceiling and walls
Being amazed by you
And what you could do
My heart full to bursting of things I couldn't say
Feelings I felt for you
Being there was like being in your heart
I was a third party watching you doing what you loved best
Surrounded by the things you loved the most
Things you are great at
And, now, I can't look at you doing it
Creating shows and productions
Like at homecoming or at prom
Because it breaks my heart again and again
To know I can't stand in your garage and see you create
*Magic
I have never told anyone this before. These are the most special memories I miss the most.
Whispers embossed onto the wings of the untamed breeze,
Oh! This silent murmurrimg of the rain , trying to read my cloaked secrets.
I don't believe in Heaven
And I don't believe in Hell
When I die
I'm going nowhere but down

"Give me a kiss"
"Give me a song"

"Why won't you
Write me
A poem?"

"Just tell me!"
"I have never been
So ******* angry."

"Give me something!"

I love you. I love you. I love you.
I want you. I want you. I want you.

But I can't let you know.

the best poetry is full of joy
unashamed of its tired clichés
because tasteful, articulate things
have been weighed in the balance and found wanting
and 'good music taste' is not really good
when the music has no real melody
and doesn't get your heart pumping
the best poetry gets your heart pumping
and your soul throbbing, yearning for more.
it is not pretentious,
it does not tell itself 'you are not good enough'
even though it is fashionable to have low self-esteem
it dances and refuses to abstain from its own glory
the best poetry is shining
and does its best to polish off its tarnished spots
rather than glorifying them
the best poetry admits its own repetition
but history is not a bad thing
tradition is not bad merely because it is traditional
the best poetry breathes life into the heart of everyone who reads it
spreads light
gives air to that which had been oppressed-
the best poetry does not wallow, complain, or remain stagnant-
the best poetry is beautiful,
and the best poetry resembles
the truth of the beautiful people who wrote it.
Pretty in pink
sweet as sugar candy
Watch it sprinkle
Dance on the floor
Float away, goodbye
little pink butterfly.
Fly to the sky
float on by
Pretty confetti
from the tree
like hundreds and thousands
from the rooftops
never stops
sprinkling blossom
floating angels
from green buds.
Blossom.
