Endless deserving subjects
It takes but one look around
Even in the smallest object
Poetry waits to be found

Yet we write with closed eyes
Failing to unveil a thing
Rhyming about our own minds
With a narcissistic ring
A criticism to myself.

There is so much misery in the world that we are becoming quite hardened and callous to that constant plucking of our hearts.

Invested trust, so poorly spent,
Even the stars have somehow bent.
Crippling doubt, head has a glitch.
Agony thrives, heart's on the fritz.
Relentless gripe, slow to succumb.
Desolate soul, coming undone.
Chartered chaos, hanging the noose. Afflicted love, won't cut me loose.
Demise of dreams, spoken too soon.
You, my love, did not hang the moon.

He whispered words
of love to the moon.
Minutes after I found
flowers growing out of
my scars and wounds* ~
