the days go by in pleasant routine
only occasional disturbances
     with grandkids  unexpected visitors
the mailman ringing at the door
because the letter would not fit the box
the neighbor asking for a favor gladly granted
someone who wants to sell some things

the days go by
      preparing meals  go shopping
      splitting the firewood
      running the wash
      checking the email
      go swimming and do AquaFit
occasionally have a lunch with friends

the days go by

and I occasionally wonder
about the undesired goal of passing all that time
as days go by
quotidian chores household sports friends routine end timepassing
thinking of things to put to verse
in times that often are adverse
to topics that involve the universe
   and other serious matter
is difficult

world politics is quite atrocious
the culture scene no less ferocious
and so if you are somewhat cautious
in your choice of themes
few are left

you might start out with poised pen
for something serious & pertinent - but then
you have a quite inspiring moment when
you realize what truly is important
in our lives

just find the words
others can understand
cowgirls don‘t ride sidesaddle
unless they completely skedaddle
but even then, since their birth,
they hold on with great mirth
to that wonderful horn on their saddle
She never really cared
but I was on fire for her.
Today I Stop setting myself
on fire for people who will sit back
and watch me burn.
Cruelty is wrought on her.
Pretending to be religious,
but wolf in sheep skin.
Tells the tale of all
the rich men she knows,
said she's not after material things,
Self-righteousness she carries about.
Known to all the men
of riches and influence.
None she settled down with.
Always giving excuses on
why she can't be with anyone.
She demands to be helped
on her own terms,
without sacrificing anything.
Life has a lot of lessons to teach,
she didn't learn anything
from the experience of living.
Life is about give and take.
What you sow, you reap.

An incomparable day
A shine of rainbows
A group of domestic rabbits
Near to me
sages and brethren
gather, and share
and slowly souls
are bared
their tempered voices
and quiet eyes
reserved of judgment
with passing smiles

moments blend
in current trends
opinions wide
and reflections deep
the concepts
and irregularities
once murky
now clear

they prioritize
and familiarize
that staunch resolution
of generation net
will remunerate
and illuminate
through the checkpoints
and formal reviews
through the purple curtains
and open stage
nothing tainted
or bitter
left for taste

cause its they
who’ll plant the seeds
the captains of commerce
healers and jugglers
the coaches and councilors
negotiators and compromisers
the kings and queens
hustlers and hellcats
(who've all found their way!)
let us tip our hats
and salute them
