There are pretty girls getting limo rides with rich men smiling by their sides
while I am singing with flowers between my teeth like romantic swords within a sheath.

I see their pretty eyes fill with city lights.
So very bright... so very bright...
But the gutters are hidden just out of sight and the rats are crawling through the night.

I am riding my bike between the trees while, in my mind, I'm on my knees with sadness at the girls in limos never knowing what will come when the sun goes down and the rats come out to feast...

I am the boy waiting on the beach watching the girls in the city but when the lights leave their eyes and they turn around,  I won't be there anymore.

so you're walking down the cracked paved road
lips numb and huffs of breath escaping through your nose
your hands are in the pockets of a large yellow hoodie with bloodstains down the sides, clutching at a crumpled ten dollar bill and shaking

so you're walking down a road
but you don't know where you're going
the feeling of not here so abstract
that you can't help but laugh at yourself for thinking that this would actually work

you know how other people see you
a small boy with a baggy sweatshirt and a mouth that tastes like coffee and cigarettes
it seems, recently, that everyone knows exactly what you taste like,
mouths pressed to yours in an effort to make the minutes stop
so you let them
because you're running out of time
and you figure that you should take what you can get

but sometimes, you're noticed,
even the feeling of a body pressed to yours, blood singing in between the ***** sheets of cheap hotels
even the thrill of easy *** cannot diminish the feeling
of a crushing weight upon your tired shoulders

your world is ending
and you know this
and you're having a hard time carrying on

vinny
I walk along these empty roads
No reflection to see
just a world made from code
In this world dwells me

is there anyone out there
my thoughts began to soar
i always wonder where
even though there's 7 billion more

Something caught my eye
It made me stop and think
What is she doing around this guy
My heart did everything but sink

The girl of my dreams
Is in the palm of my hands
the only one in world that matters
She was a diamond in the sands

I will never be able to eat a grapefruit again without thinking of you.
I remember when I used to hate that sour flesh
It made the sides of my mouth turn down
on their own,
biting into that bitterness and tasting its wicked juice.
I liked sweet things, the sweeter the better,
piled five packets of refined sugar into my coffee,
(they're tiny, right?)
sprinkled sugar onto my vegetables to make them go down better,
skipped dinner for dessert.
But you couldn't handle the sweet,
you protested every time
I tried to feed you a treat.
It made your stomach turn and your teeth hurt.

I couldn't understand it.
but the meals cycled on
like everything else we shared,
and slowly our tastes circled in from
opposite ends of the spectrum.

Nowadays,
I'll eat my grapefruit with a bit of sugar,
and you'll take your smoothies with a bit of lime,
And everything we share together will be sweet and sour
all at once,
The most beautiful flavor I've ever had.

And so I fall asleep
waiting for our paths to cross
and us to find each other
because it’s been quite awhile
and it seems that you’re lost
or maybe
you took another way
and found someone else,
not knowing that
I am waiting
waiting for you
to wake me
with that kiss
that will fix me
and lift me up
and you’ll take me
away from my misery
there was a teddy bear he had a barbecue
invited all his friends there quite a few
a little fluffy cat and a chimpanzee
a soldier in a uniform very smart was he
there was a little owl and parrot to
gathered all together for the barbecue
teddy did the cooking burgers in a bun
everyone was happy having lots of fun
when the party ended they all went away
and thanked the little bear for such a lovely day
“kitty”. sixteen,5′ 11″,white,*******.

ducking always the touch of must and shall,
whose slippery body is Death’s littlest pal,

skilled in quick softness.  Unspontaneous.  cute,

the signal perfume of whose unrepute
focusses in the sweet slow animal
bottomless eyes importantly banal,

Kitty. a *****. Sixteen
                            you corking brute
amused from time to time by clever drolls
fearsomely who do keep their sunday flower.
The babybreasted broad “kitty” twice eight

—beer nothing,the lady’ll have a whiskey-sour—

whose least amazing smile is the most great
common divisor of unequal souls.
