Spring is here
This time we are witnessing
Blossoms from our windows
Shops are the same
But we are ordering online
No full parking lots
No crowded aisles
No rushing to your offices
No rushing cars on the
Three lanes of highways

Only places crowded
Are the hospitals
And the mortuaries
God has painted a very bleak
Very heart wrenching picture of planet Earth

Still, mankind is clapping
And singing, and jiving
In homes, cheering on life
‘Cause life still exists
And God is watching how
We are still keeping our lamps lighted!

Sitting by the blue water of the pool
Writing and reading in the sun
Makes it easier to think of Texas
And the mass shootings
Sitting by Lake George
On our vacay
Enables me to bear
The beatings doled out
By friends who turned into enemies
Frenemies teach me
To discriminate
Between good and bad
May I always choose
The Good!

Sorrow insurmountable
Taking me close to a coma
Still trying to keep myself happy
For otherwise, we would have
Lost the battle
“Emerge victorious”
Was what they told me
And victorious, I did emerge
Now, on the way to
Regaining my
Wholesome self
And showing the finger
To villains…

Christmas is close by
We are going to celebrate in India
Without the snow
Happy and sad
Missing friends
Reunite with family
US is now home
Where I have stayed
For thirty years
And my home in India
Had my company for twenty six
O Lord
May both my homes
Prosper!

Today we bought tulips
And the desks have turned beautiful
We celebrated birthdays
A month back
And I remember the vegan cheesecake for Abby
Hubby said in his card
“I don’t know how I got so lucky…”
And I, on this Tuesday
Think likewise
Alexa plays the oldies
While we drink French wine
With steaming hot
Fusion dinner…
Life is full!

God decided to let the world remain
Because men and women
Fought to preserve it
It snowed again in December
And people celebrated Christmas
There were gifts and hugs
That happened
There were zoom meets
And connections were strengthened
There was giving and self care
And people rejoiced with all their might
God agreed
To give them another chance…

While having an avocado
For b’fast
I remembered that many
Loved ones who might have
Loved avocados are missing
From several dinner tables now…
Those who might have loved
Getting up early and exercising.
Like I do.
Those who might have
Wondered at a bough full of
Flowers they saw while out
On their walks.
Who might have felt
Awake on smelling their coffee…

Today is a different creative day
The tv is on, hubby is teaching downstairs
The day has already rolled into night
And I am in between reading a novel
And a book on art
The times are becoming full of hope again
Goodness won the elections
There are chances of a vaccine
For the pandemic getting distributed soon
But evil is taking its time to exit
And is opposing God
Winter is approaching
Festivities are on the close horizon
Let us pray
For the floods and the fires to succumb to Hope!

Laugh, for you know not
When tears will fall
Laugh, for after summer
You’ll fall.

You who are out there working
On frontlines, grasp life fully well
Grappling with death all the time
Teach us how to value it…

God creates
Oftentimes we forget
We grow from a toddler
To an adult
And accumulate adulation
At such a stage
Should we bow our heads
And realize
Our maker as the fountainhead…

Flowers are blooming again
But the planet is ill...
People are dying in huge numbers
Infected by some viruses
Which were carried by animals...

Humans exploited the planet:
The earth,the water,the creatures!
The results are showing,
One by one...

Can't we minimize
The processes of ruin
And embrace
The blooming flowers
And read God's message?

Trembling all over
Have become busy
Smiling all over
Braving the cold
Taking the bus
And then the train
Walking,
Amongst strangers
Awed at Manhattan
I have stepped into a fairyland!

Wanna come?

Blow after blow,
It will come,
Purporting to take your everything away...
Hold on, do not give way!
And when they stop,
Deliver your blows!

Keep on doing this, for as long as they persist,
For years, decades...

And then, they would seem to stop...
And, would really stop.
And then you celebrate victory...

Smile! Fight back, tooth for tooth!
Smash back when smashed!
Do not let go!
That is today's mantra.
Forces have arisen
Which are looting, hurting, smashing you...
Be a force to fight for the just and moral.
Fight against the dark!
And you will win!

Starting to spread my wings a little
Starting to do my own thing a little
Seeking support, getting support
Couching comfy
Surrounded by love
And care
Basking in the sunlight
Petals underneath my footfalls...

The way to move forward
Is to accept love when in pain
Nowadays, pain comes cheap,
Hurt comes easy,
Light seems rare.
Get love
And conquer pain.
Light up the world,
It is waiting!

It has been a few days since Thanksgiving...
I am full of gratitude.
This life has taken

Hampers full of bounty!
It has given me
An array of warm smiles
And embraces
Which filled my heart
So, that it overflowed...
And loads of warm love
Which made me
Beautiful again!

Winter is here.
There will be festivities
There will be snow
There will be stories.

There will be joy
There will be cheer
People will let go of worries!

Chin up, and smile
God is watching upon us
Let gloom take leave with the flurries...

Senseless ending of lives must stop.

What joy do you get
Out of cutting short
People's lives
Just because
A gun gives you power?

It is not a toy
And we are humans!

If you cannot use it sensibly

I was out with my friend

Life has gotten busy

By friends,by people

And felt reassured...

The snow covered lawns and roads
Knowing
Warmth exists!

It is a nice day
In winter
It has snowed
And there is sunlight
Shining on it
My home is
Looking bright
And cosy
And I am feeling
Proud of it
Am chatting
With my son
Who is at college
And with my hubby
Who is out at work
And I am thinking
Of my love
A full day
A full life
God's grace.

Like flowers bloom

Treasure it

Summer was full of parties,
Prayer meetings, picnic, beach going
Our son was here with us...

Now we are anticipating fall
And its colors...

Then comes winter
And the white snowfall...

Seasons come and go
All aglow
With their beauty

Created by God
With a lot of care
And love!

We love them too.

Flowers held
In trembling hands
And offered to Him

Resonate with
His blessings
Beamed towards you...

Flowers offered
Because you love Him
And you love the world
He has created for you...

And his blessings come
Because He loves you!

Nothing hollow
Haloed days
Greenery outside
My son's happy ways...
Cookin, eating,
In grand ways
Summer is here
Golden days!
Agendas, routines,
Resolutions, pride,

He is watching always!

Did not sit down to write
For many a day...

Things happened

Some memories did stay...

Sometimes I felt happy

Trees have gotten green
Flowers abloom everywhere
Nice, sunny days,
Son is with us to stay...

Life has been lovely

When death comes up in discussions
Towards life do I sway!

There is support

I couldn't have gone on
After falling down

And is thriving

The world is beckoning!

God listens

The sky is overcast
It is raining
But it is raining love...

For the flowers are coming out
With the falling rain...

All seasons
Are acts of love-
God pouring love
On his creation-
This earth...

And he wants his creation-
Man
To savor all his acts of love...

So sing on
It is raining!

Today I took a walk
In the sun

Went and bought some books

Welcomed spring into my life
First time this year

I know what a whole lot
Has to be done
When the days are this precious
