In childhood it’s slow
For we’re too young to know
Unaware of this treasure
While our lives it does measure

Through pleasure and pain
And sunshine and rain
In our joy and our sorrow
It gives us tomorrow

But no one escapes
As it silently takes
The days and the weeks
Up behind us it creeps

As months turn to years
And our youth turns to fears
From the clock on the wall
We hear its soft call

Now ever aware
As it passes each year
In the rush and the haste
We still allow it to waste

As day turns to night
For its passing we fight
From our slumber we wake
In our heart there’s an ache

For Time waits for none
It can’t be undone
It marches alone
To a place unbeknown

Taking stalk, in some grace
That every thing has a place
A space for this and a space for that
So where's my place in my flat

2 beautiful sons, do they see me here
I hear them, sometimes a tear
For she feels left out as they get a life
But never a lonely little wife

Just a lonely mum who sees
The joy, the happiness and the glee's
that her sons have found their path in life
But never a lonely little wife

They love me strong, that I know
As I hug them hello and cheerio
Some days we don't see each other
But always they think of their mother

I get a glimpse of their eyes
Remember the days that have gone by
When they were never from my side
As we walked the streets, holding hands, with pride

I knew these days would come soon
so i sit alone in my room
I am happy and yes happy not to be
A lonely wife, oh that is not me

A single mum for many years
Shared the joys and wiped the tears
Loved my kids that is true
But singletons feel loneliness too

cheap motel beds
& champagne out of paper cups
red lipstick girls
wonder what it's like
to be in love
When the going
Has got too tough
It’s time to get going
And drive forwards

Don’t sit in the stagnant pool
Of decay
Don’t delay
Start a new day

Extricate yourself
From the mess of the past
And formulate
A new reality

Ungoverned by old demons
Ruled by the true you
Cut free
From the enemy
And light a torch
Of freedom

your voice is like a melody
it slips into my head,
then it drifts away
& i cant remember it’s tune,
until I hear it again.
maybe one day will you sing for me too?

Sin

Sin
If you're not careful of your sin
It can kindly creep on in
Burrow deep within your soul
Where you can't climb from its hole

You must always be on guard
Doesn't matter who you are
Sins cares little where it goes
Or who's life it destroys

So keep a watchful eye round you
Always clinging to God's truth
Never fall for Satan's lies
Holding tight to Jesus Christ

Where the victory has been won
Through Father, Spirit, faithful Son
Still it's your job best to try
To keep sin out of your life

Traveler
He hugged me
Tears running down his face
I felt him shudder
For the whole human race

Just who condemned him
Has always been clear
The righteous
The believers
The possessors
Of fear

Yet sympathy
I felt
For the Devil
Himself
Because forgiveness
   Runs through my veins...
