Ashes to ashes and dust to dust
Call this assurance if you must;
But when it's time to say Farewell
To one you love, it's just plain hell.

There are no words, no healing balm,
To fill the void, to ease the calm;
And not a thing that one can say
Will drive the quick hot tears away.

We look upon the empty chair
And seek the one no longer there;
And so heartbreaking is the pain
We question if we'll meet again.

How grim indeed, if death should be
The Bitter End--- Eternity;
Just some vague dream conceived by Man
And not a part of any plan.

But God has taken such great care
To note the sparrow in the air;
His Love alone can cover all
And Mark a simple Sparrows' fall.

And if he cares for the birds that fly,
then he must hear My Anguished cry;
"Dear God, I yield my grief to Thee
For Thou alone can comfort me."
To Everyone who is struggling with Grief

He slaps down
A ten dollar bill
Mutters "Marlboro 100s."
I set down
A chocolate bar
And give the cashier two dollars.
He looks so unhappy
So I ask why.
"addiction,
Little girl.
I've tried pulling myself away
From her-"
And he takes a deep breath
"cigarettes.
But they pull me back in.
A word from the wise..
Never do something too much,
Even if it's just for the
'fun' of it.
That's how addiction drags you in."
He lights up in the store
And gets kicked out,
I look at my candy bar.

What's the opposite of  Goodbye
Would your attention on that be grabbed
If you took out all the happy
Would you be left with sad
If there was a magic number
Could you count that high
If you lost what you do for a living
Would that cause you to die

These are some of the questions
That it is I've got
Oh, one more thing if you don't mind
Is that the opposite or not

With your head stuck in the clouds
Do you find it hard to breath
If you turned that frown upside down
Would a smile intercede
If you went out with the Butcher
Would the Baker still supply your sweets
If you dated the Undertaker
Would the afterlife come cheap

These are some random questions
That I have running loose
Wait a minute, here comes another
What's the opposite of truth

Is there an account on daylight savings
I can put interest in from my time
Should I have saved more of the day
And spent less on the night
Could I dilly dally in the stock market
And take it out in trade
Or buy a balloon in the shape of Johnny and June
And watch them float in serenade

Just a few of the questions
That I like to throw
By the way can you tell me
What's the opposite of  *Hello

We come to the lawyers table
With our list of demands
Both of us being careful
Not to show the other our hand
For years we played the same tune
But now it's a different dance
Wondering if we gave this marriage
Enough of a fighting chance

I start out by saying
You can have the dog and the kids
That gets your brain a-scrambling
As you pull out your own list
Can not help but wonder
How it all came down to this
After all the years of
Our perfect marriage bliss

I do have to say
I find it a bit insane
The way it is that we both felt
Exchanging vows and names
When was the start
Of this now our  wicked game
And why do we feel the need
Too cast on the other blame

Why is the love we had
Ending in divorce
Hitting a solid brick wall
In the middle of life's course
Can't think of anything
That is any worse
Than the love that we once had
Ending in divorce
I'm happily married... Just don't understand how after years of marriage
couples want to ruin each other.
