Time Gone By
Lilly Gibbons Jan 2015
Time passes slowly now
That you are no longer here,
Moments have turned into hours,
Hours have turned into years.

Do I float into your mind,
When your eyes roll into the dark?
Are you concocting new wishes?
Confused on which journey to embark.

Don't worry yourself with old feelings,
They get washed away in new streams.
Enjoy tomorrows meandering rivers,
Where you will find bigger dreams.

Let sleep invade on your sorrows,
Tear stained pillows dry in the night.
Never give up the vibrant you,
the strong you that took the first flight.

Waiting won't do you any good,
Precious time ticks right on by,
Know that there are no forevers,
No matter how hard we try.

The Mixology of Fear
Lilly Gibbons Jan 2015
Shame on you for giving up before we reached the end,
No full stop or decrescendo ever came.
Onto you I place this guilt, it was never meant for me,
In time the trees will shed their leaves, bringing clarity.
Endless tappings on my heart to let me know your there,
And after all the good times end, where are you, no where.

Shame on you for letting me get trapped in your everyday,
For allowing the graceful fall, from pillars of beauty,
You have toppled the greatest of trees.
Its not enough to say farewell, times were good.
I should have known better, I shouldn't have looked,
But how clever of you to know that I would.

Shame on you for invading me, my thoughts no longer run clear,
They are fused with you's and wants and wishes,
Can't you see you have created, a cocktail of confusion,
The mixology of fear.

#ForeverisNever
Lilly Gibbons Jan 2015
If forever is never than now is the time to reach for the clouds, become the sublime.

Live in the hot sips of tea each morning, let colourful skies free you from mourning. Know that a stroll can lead somewhere new, bask in expressions, they symbolise truth. Give hope with smiles to all, connect with your eyes, aware of distant pains, knowing they subside.

If forever was never what comes with such pleasure; action, decision or pain? Living for today, forgetting expectations, think of all that there is to be gained.

The Signs
Lilly Gibbons Jun 2015
Is this the sign? What we were waiting for.
A place beyond the bright blue skies,
The time told we said would be near.
Is this the place? The one where we say our goodbyes.
When everything becomes nothing,
Pretending that we had once tried.
Is this the new path? It stretches oh so far.
How do we see what is coming?
When we have been lost in the dark.
Is there a someone who's waiting?
For a person to give them the sign.
What is yours is always yours truly
But what is mine is yours and not mine.

What do you say?
Lilly Gibbons Nov 2014
I have a plan. It involves you and me.
To go to the sea, to see what has yet to be seen,
To be where no other ought to be,
To follow no footprints left in the sand,
Walking ever so quietly, hand in hand.
Reaching a place not stood on before,
Looking out to the night from a wondrous shore!

The Truth
Lilly Gibbons Jan 2015
Had I allowed you to feel how I feel
You might think differently,
Seeing as me, through eyes unfiltered.
