Tanisha Jackland May 2016
I’ve searched the evening tides for you
the seams of you in dreams
My pixie rose plucked for petals

It was in the distance of you that fed me
As if you could satisfy the insatiable

To relish in the depth of this oblivion
How sweet the spell comes

I could barely hear the wailing
Your body broken in delicate moments
Drifting from me like a pretty ghost

Here you are again
My favorite lonely one
Dispelling the void between us
With this song
Tanisha Jackland May 2016
they tightened the noose and yet
she came immaculate out of nothing
Bearing the fruit of prophecy
from her womb

they fired the stake and yet
she came driving spells
from ambrosia
cursing the heinous lots

They ****** her body and yet
She came resurrected from the darkness
and the spirit of the saints

She is black as a boot
Came martyred and gone forever
Amongst the plume of fools
Flying toward the ends of night
Tanisha Jackland May 2016
She is doubtful for the
reason of the sky
the dark gather of clouds
filled with ghosts and rain

The heart is where the bleeding
Starts then trickles down her legs
These are the days
of the betrayal

When force becomes mightier
Than the need for beauty
When blood is spilt for a laugh
Like the eyes are not crevices for the soul

She is doubtful for the
reason of the sky
then lip-syncs to the future
of our demise
This lighthearted word that makes you want to look up
to see the allure and intrigue that the sky holds

Every collection of soft, fluffy whiteness opens the door
to another portal for the imagination

They shift expand and disperse like most things in life
with a much faster pace

I watch as they gently meld into one another
Then fade into blue
the grandest magic show I have ever seen

And off on the horizon
this sumptuous mound
seems to grow from the core
of the planet

Reaching higher with more light and luminance than all the rest combined I watch as it coats the sky for as far as the eye can see

Wrapped in the glorious hues of the setting sun
in the midst of heaven
I see you
I took a walk up the incline
And there it was
The starry fable
That  shines from life’s depths
this poem
is not about you

even though
your spirit is in every word
your voice sounds strong
in the halls of my mind
telling me things
I am now sure
I want to know

this poem is
about me

trying to understand
you
