Maybe,
so many people
have killed
themselves
because
they've been
reincarnated
and everything
is too different.
"I can't live this way."
I looked at you, appraisingly
And felt very little,
Could even call it nothing.
How could all those feelings disappear – and where are they now?
Lying dormant, waiting to be reactivated
By your hungry, longing glance?
Or gone forever, welcome realisation
Prompting utter disregard?
My inspiration has fled with the feelings,
So bring back the longing,
The anger, the aching, and the angst.
I cannot lose
My one and only muse.
The theme for this year
Is betrayal
Both delivered and received.
I have yet to decide
If I am made stronger
Or more fragile
By experiencing both.
I am certainly
A great deal sadder
And a lot more careful
About who I trust
Including myself.
I spent today reeling you in.
                     threads of your silk love
fluttered through the air
                     like broken, escaped spider webs

how can you be at once everywhere and nowhere?
                                                                    on an old voyage moment
                                                        you rebuked me:
“You’re looking with the wrong eyes,
my dear”
But my eyes don’t dart differently.

I sit with the innumerable knots of your
                                                                         miscellaneous elations.
I sift for the ends to start
                                    unraveling, adapting
but maybe you are just one continuous
Idea

             as lo
ng as we’
     re
tan
         gled,

                              Bind
the fibers of my physical being
                              catch
                          the flapping petals
                                         falling from my
          composed mannerisms

                      stitch
                 your whimsy
                                          into each atom
                                     of my salient figure-

fuse your feathered fabric
into my most raw elements.

My life is a matted disarray
                                  of your truest notions-

A yarn Mount choreographed from
the diminutive strands
of your blinking captured freedom

I spent today reeling you in-

So- entwine me, Love,
net me forever, Sweet,
my dearest jumble to disentangle
I love you like the first lemon I tasted
you stormed into my life
(like the sour in my face.)

you changed the expressions I choose to wear too…
but instead of making the grimace-squeeze face of
                            acidic lemon

I tend to be too busy smiling.

I am not superman.
I carry around guns for protection.
I have killed many
And never was sorry.
I have stolen from men
who have stolen from others.
Do not look at me as a savior,
Not even as a big brother,
because I am nothing of a role model.
My wings have broken
and I don't even have a place to call home.
Pain is written on my skin with the smirk of a devil
leaving cracks all over for sorrow to sneak its way in and bury itself deep into my bones.
So give me hope because I'm not man enough to create my own.
I keep putting other's lives before mine hoping that counts as love
but wind up realizing that doesn't count as anything
Trust me, I'm no superman.
I can't even save myself.
I've burned my cape in the fires of hell because I've been there enough
to know I can't wear it anymore.
I have flaws enough to fill the ocean and I'm sick of drowning
and I'm tired of counting dead bodies
and I’m tired of swimming through waves I'm not big enough for.
So hear the violin and piano play my symphony
of the fallen man.
I never said I could fly.
I never said I could save your life.
I never gave up though.
So hold me tight and let me finally break and fall into the arms of someone I can trust and someone I know that'll keep my heart safe buried next to theirs.
I've played wicked games and lost too many times and now I just want to sleep.
I'm tired of turning up black and blue
But I'll do anything to protect you.
If you were never here then I would have ended this a long time ago.
I would have welcomed the salt water into my lungs
Or fall asleep in a tree and meet death in the morning as I hang in silence.
But now I beg for hope because I'm torn apart.
But I know am seen as your superman so I’m going to hang on with all my might,
And live this life with you
as a hero
as your superman.

"How many times can you fall in love with the same person?"

- the answer escaped my lips but ran wild through my brain.
my heart knew every word that my tongue could not explain.
I look deeper into your question,
billions of people, but you're the incomparable selection.
my selection, laced with complexities that were only meant for me to unravel.
scar after scar and yet falling for you has been the easiest of battles.

"How many times can you fall in love with the same person?"

-let's take a guess because neither of us knows.
let's keep counting, let's use our fingers and our toes.
tallying falls and re-falls into a universe created out of unexplainable connection.
a journey, our journey, the imperfect perfection.
you see, my heart resides in your sanctuary of a soul.
keep it there, it seems to be the only place it will grow.

"How many times can you fall in love with the same person?"

-if the third time's the charm, how lucky are we?
how blessed is this love affair, how is it not meant to be?
question the questions, or jump into what has become our second skin;
LOVE. our home away from home. the place where we've always been.
I will always love you and you will always love me.
so when you ask how many more times we'll fall, I'll simply reply: "Infinity."

Climbing out of bed
On cold fall nights to
Stand on balconies
Because life is too much to handle

Anxiety ridden words fall from your mouth
As your voice spikes

"You haven't stopped smoking all night"

Pulling cigarettes from an Altoids case
Where you've kept it hidden
Holding fire filled paper to your lips

Inhale, exhale

Breathing in the bad and releasing the good
Killing your body with the chemicals that you use to make yourself feel better

*You don't feel better
