If only the good die young
Does that make me a terrible person?
Should I be on my knees begging for forgiveness?
Since i didn't die as a child, instead got to enjoy my life?
i'm sorry I don't cry myself to sleep at night, for having a beating heart
Thats just not the way I was raised
I was taught to embrace the small moments, instead of wishing I was dead
So again let me express my sorrow for having a happy life
For one must live in sorrow, since I am a horrid person
But what is the point of dying young, if we were promised a lifetime?
Even though our world has many problems, i'm glad I get to see them all work out
I want to go to college and have a good job, raise children with a loving husband
Is that really to much to ask?
My mother is my role model, but since she's still alive
Your telling me I don't even have her to look up to?
Excuse me for my rudeness, but that's an idiotic thing to say
For all mothers are amazing, do you know how much work they do?
What about my baby sister,
Should I be praying that she die? And never live to see her first birthday?
Again, please pardon my manners, but who ever came up with that is an awful person
That probably lived to be 200, which would insult them to the fullest extent
If only the good die young.
My soul is alive...
I am in a journey and I dont really know where I am going...
I am constantly between well and unwell...
Between good and bad...
Hopefully more good than bad.
My soul sometimes feels tired and hopeful at the same time.
I am certain only of one thing...
That I am alive.
I can't keep it together much longer
Everything I do is cliche
Another piece to a puzzle
That was solved long ago
I'm just another double
A second rate product
In a race with the expiration date
you cannot unwalk the bridge you have crossed
you cannot unknow the fresh taste of enlightenment
once you have breathed it in
there is no way back
to an illusory net of safety
take courage
spread your wings
and fly

Who are we to say
that a love is not to be?
That a love does not belong
and can never be set free?

Who are we to think
that a kind is not our people?
That a kind is far beneath us
and will never be as equal?

Who are we to feel
that a face can look unusual?
That a face must be a canvas
and be painted to be beautiful?

Who are we to judge?
To say love is prohibited?
To think below of others?
To feel minds can be limited?

We are none truly alone,
I've written of this before
I shall write of our souls
And the invisible chains, once more

We are all connected,
By these universal chains
From the beggar on the corner,
To the broker squandering gains

We are seven billion shades,
Different shades of the same hue
From me here in my mountains,
Across the earth to you

Whether you're a dancer,
Stepping to a tune
Or a night fisherman,
Gathering food, under the moon

These universal chains,
They bind us each together
That's what the universe wanted,
And so it is forever

Each time you defame,
Your fellow human across the way
You're defaming part of yourself,
So be careful what you say

This is how its been since the beginning
This is how it is until the end
Be kind to each other,
Remember we're all akin
Oh wow! Thank you my fellow poets. Thank you for reading and liking my words.<3
She was wild like skinny dipping at midnight, stars watching overhead and falling in love with moonlight. The way it lay upon her skin made the ocean envious of her depths within and sometimes between us. She was my sister, not in blood but in orbit. A Venus to my Earth, forged from the same collapsing star and if the universe was in fact to be infinite then this moment would happen again, and again, and again an immeasurable number of times. I found comfort in this thought, knowing though our existence was meaningless, it was still full of feeling, and this feeling, right now, it insisted on existing forever.

white man says
make america great again
white man says it
like he ever knew America bad
like he ever knew anything but privilege

white man says
take us back
to better times and
I wonder which he means

maybe genocide
or slavery
or Jim Crow
or woman only knows kitchen
or woman doesn't get vote
or back of the bus
or don't ask don't tell
or all that war and all that death

white man says
make America great again
like it ever was to begin with

other white man says
make America Christian again
like this country wasn't founded
on freedom of religion
like you’re only free to have it
if you love Jesus

white man says
conservative with fear between his own teeth
says the word
like it's a dying breed
like it'd be a bad thing if it did
says it like he knows a **** thing
about what it means to be a minority

white man says
**** political correctness
as if kindness requires too much effort
as if it's a mistake to be considerate
as if words don’t have significance
white man says
Mexican
Mexican
Muslim
says go back
says you're not wanted here
sounds a lot like 1941 Germany
sounds a lot like ******
Mexican
Muslim
brown person
doesn't know how much survival it takes to be one in this country

white man
says legal
like it only means good
like these men who look just like him don't walk into movie theatres and shoot
into schools and shoot
into churches and shoot
into mosques and shoot
into human and shoot
tell me again what it means to be legal
to belong here
to have the right to be alive without chains
say we'd rather have guns walk free than citizens
say we'd rather save money than lives
say this country's got too many problems
say you know how to fix it

white man says
make America great again but
doesn’t know that progress
doesn’t work in reverse
tell me again
how going backward
will make the future any brighter
when our past is a reflection
of all the light
we never really had
