brooke
the snow fell all before
i cut my hair, melted when
i woke up this morning
the heat of discovery
radiated against the
walls, and between
locks and licks of
curls that dried up
on the floor, I thought
maybe you've been
dreaming of a girl
who wasn't me but
is me now.

who wasn't
me but is
me now.

if you seek to avoid every pain in this life
you have some growing up to do
and sorry, hate to break it to you-
but it's going to hurt.

To have felt this way all of the time,
a(nd) stranger still,
to leave (it) behind.
To enter a place unrestrained by time.
The cost of a ticket,
one price only -
your mind.
Magic Theater revisited
We had our monsters under the bed
They kept us from the shadows of night
From peering in the closet
And walking down the hallway

Now just disguised as thoughts in our heads
They keep us from much uncertainty
From peering into our souls
And living our days with joy

But both paralyze
Steal security
And gift us sleepless nights

Fear has great power
It kills and destroys...
But only if power is granted

yes, I do plan on ******* bulldozing through this life
I am no Hazel Grace
I do not mind that the marks I leave are often scars
because scars, I think, can be beautiful
and I have never wanted to leave this world unmarked.
