the few friends I have are not
fearful for the thought of hell
but instead embrace it, the rot
that comes with it, the smell
that would bother some matters not to them.
They are ready to go, because they are
going to hell just for being themselves.
Why would they go to hell for that?
Well because of a book wrote by man,
in the name of god.

The misinterpretation of these words
cause such a debate, the same words
did not allow slaves human rights
justified hatred of other "races".
These words let jews be massacred by a German,
let crosses be burned and people whipped by
the "white man". Let burning of countless
innocent women occur.
LET people forget the one race
that we all are, human.

So people why do we not forget the man
written words and follow the true divinity of them?
Pray to your god, and worship his son, and embody
the holy ghost, is this too hard of a task for such devout Christians?
So I have been wanting to write this for a while because i find Christians killing and not allow human rights to people because of words a man wrote and then another man misintrepreted. The bible is a holy text and I am a Christian, but I do believe that the bible has parts of it that are not interpreted  the  way god intended it to be.

I. Tune Out The Traffic, Just Listen to the Crickets

Throw your phones into the sea
  walk away into the night
  fall asleep beneath a tree
burn a candle for your light

Don't pretend to be in love
only say it, if it's true
  pray to nothing up above
the only person to trust is you

The manifesto wasn't long
  the words were not obtuse
it rhymed just like a song
but in the end it was refused

II. There Is No Metaphor Here, So Please Stop Looking

Big 'ole spider on the wall
To where is it that you crawl?
I'm sure today you've seen it all
A dog without a ball
and humans walking tall
The leaves of pretty whorl
and a lonesome bathroom stall
Oh
Big 'ole spider on the wall
Do you have someone to call
When this stranger has the gall
              to crush you

III. Algae on the Riverbank

They dragged a corpse from the river
it was bloated and decaying
They pulled a body from a burning car
it was charred and still smoking
They took a foetus from its mother's arms
it was slimy and cooling
They shoveled a person from the sidewalk
it was shapeless and splattered

Everybody dies,
but every body mattered

IV. The Untruths of Poeticism

Tear pages from your books of poetry
and throw them to the winds
They become falling leaves in summertime breeze
- fills the sky with pretty rhymes
Butterflies flutter by
look away from the shutter sky
The stutter lies
and so do I
Four poems written by a fishing lake in Missouri a few months back.
I may not be skilled with knives or swords,
But I can disembowel you with words

With every set, my anxious heart beats with silver
Each of the beats, counting away the reign of the sun
Before finally taking my shift as guardian of the night sky
In my entirety, pulses of incandescent blood does run

As the sun leaves, I rise and and take my rightful place
I'd find my usual nook on my bed of black
Surrounded by familiar friends scattered all over
A million jewels spilling out of heaven's sack

I'd silently watch the earth, reaching with gentle translucent fingers
Silver searchlights scour the lands, I harvest all in view
But my beams were never meant for others
Do believe that... I've saved them only for you

Amongst the sea of hopefuls, I'd always find yours
Looking up with my reflection branded into those eyes
Let us merge our dreams of mercury and red
Rest in the cradle of my light, as I soothe all your cries

Dear Moongazer, it's been a few nights now
Bound by my predestined orbit, I can't help but turn away
Believe that I am resisting with all that I have in me
Unseen defiance in this futile fight so that longer I'd stay

Several more had passed... I feel the promise of fate encroaching
The crushing weight of universe's anvil bearing down
Tearing a little at a time, leaving me lesser than whole
Now I'm half draped in darkness' gown

As the nights go by, I've long been eaten
I peer from my side as I float a slim silver crescent
The time has arrived, my love, I shall leave you in the company of the stars
They will keep you safe even if they seem indifferent

Fully turned away, I now see only fresh new hearts
They all sing the same but none like you
Still I glow to rekindle their hopes and dreams
But what I long is for this tour to be through

After what seemed like an eternity, I'm coming back round
Looking for your beacon as I shine bright and clear
Let our entities intertwine as the moon and her gazer
I am your lunar love...
                                    and I am here...

.
Inspired by my previous write - "Moongazer"
so I tried again
to train my parrot,
this time more emphatically:
"Why don't you just
say what I say?
What, they never taught you
Repetition at Parrot School?"

and my parrot said:
*"What, they never taught you
Thinking at Human School?"
final poem in this series of parrot poems...I give up on my parrot!
Writing is the one thing I can submerge my emotions in.
I can drown them out and the voices
In my skull, it clears my mind
And if only for a brief moment
It even silences the pain
Sorry for the lack of posts guys.

I know you like the back of my hand...

*Oh, when did that get there?
You never really know someone...
