Mum dreamed she was an intellectual
Well read and well versed
Mum dreamed she was a lady
Her behaviour never adversed
Mum dreamed she was beautiful
The prettier of the two.

She dreamed she married her sweet heart
But that could never come true
She dreamed things always got better
But they did not as the years passed
She dreamed there was an afterlife
But at the end that did not last.

Mum wanted children to be by her side
Those she did get, Richard and I
Mum wanted to be loved
More than anything
She found it in a gentle man
That he did bring.

Mum thought of her rose - garden
The one up the hill
The one she built from optimism
I know she sits there still.

Love Mary. **

It was in that first moment
the first time we really talked,
i felt a soul connection
but at that time, my heart i blocked.

Do you remember that moment?
As i opened up and bared to you,
i felt such a calming peace
letting you in to see that view.

It was in that first moment
when i looked deep in your eyes,
i saw my forever “home”
i felt the sweetest of love baptize.

It was in that first moment
when you reached for my hand,
as i stepped into your arms
love overflowed, deep into the land.

It was in that first moment
when your lips touched mine in kiss,
Awwww.. the sweetest of moments
i will forever love to reminisce.

It was in that first moment
as our souls connected as one,
the world slipped out from beneath me
everything i knew became undone.

It was in that first moment…..

When the sand is spoiled with footprints, you need only wait a little while. The waves will wash in as the tide rises and it will wash away the past and leave a clean slate for you to start again.

The Noose
The shape of the heart
How it echoes from the depths
When molecules align
At the dawn of lucidity
Those shards of emotion
Collect at the edge of you
Your atoms speak of truth
The unsureness of being
And the kindness that blooms
That will be your greatest act.

such a heavy load you have there
that chip sitting on your shoulder
why not just let it go
let it go before it's a boulder

thicken up your skin a bit
don't jump so quick to defense
nobody's out to get you
you don't have to be so intense

I hate walking on eggshells
I really don't want them to crack
so remove all those shells, brush off the chip
and cut everybody some slack!
This one is for me, too, at times! :-)

The suns rays
Pass through the clouds
Shining through majestic colors
Of broken rainbows that never got the chance
To shine after a rainstorm
