I take off my boots
and throw one at the moon
tonight, the starlight is mute
after listening to the news
watching politicians kissing
the President's *** like it
was a ruby on the Pope's ring
while the people weep
in the streets, crying out about
all the orders from above,
no more doves or butterflies,
no gardens, no dreaming, no
poets, no brooms, no hope
for the sick and weary, only
last straws, executive actions,
anti-immigrant policies.

Who is that man
in my doorway

his shadow
smelling like grave soil

face cold as a dead star
dark as a pond full of oil

his hair floating like weeds
eyes blank as a book of good deeds

turning slowly with grace
like a boot tied to the end of a lace.

zebra
there's a monkey in my television
he doesn't speak well
but he sure talks good
hes a real politician
Mr Do Right
he much appreciates my support
while ******* in every room of the house
marking his territory
which is everywhere
and promising lavender horizons
with words like a luster of stumps
turning lives into vagrant shadows
freezing dreams like skin tags

he's **** high in **** and graft
having *** ******
an
American way of life
while he grandstands
riding a tricycle on the ceiling
all business like
a lazy worthless *******
with a slush fund
and no limit to what he will do
flanked with mullah lawyers and the clergy
minions lackeys and body guards
he sits terminal
upon a throne
like a jagged mouth
sure to be swallowed
struggling against the menacing whispers
of those do wrongs and the unborn

world soul disgruntled
a slave to being a tyrant
ready to **** all transgressors
of his vainglory
and a willing toilet mouth
to all above
gobbling and grateful
when they flush
the god of money ******
leading by example
and
serving with distinction

waiting for the ship

the final destination

in times so quiet

your invincible spirit

knows it must one day travel

travel beyond all that's familiar

into the great eternity beyond all your dreaming.
( a mention to Bernardo Soares and the twenty one grams )

Preening?
they're ******' dreaming.

say,
is contactless new?
'bout as new as old can be,
people been contactless for years
peers can't or won't
acknowledge peers feeling
it's better to be alone than
to be herded like steers to
the abattoir and that's how
far it was thought out

contactless?
absolutely clueless as
to what's going on,

people getting on with the
everyday task of,
don't look
I won't ask,

ps
I was told off for my use
of offensive language,
what the ****'s that all about?

the only things offensive to me
are the rich making riches from
poverty,
motor vehicles pumping
out obituaries and people who
complain about cigarettes,

it sets me on fire as to why a
swear word or two
could make you
feel so aggrieved.

Those twenty one grams you lose in death?
well
some breathe them out with every word on
each breath,
but
they're only peacocks
getting their rocks off
by
complaining.

I. Sincerely
To the girl that decided
my time
wasn't worth hers.

II. Declarations
I love you.
I miss you.
I care about you.

III. Present
All I wanted was your
presence,
but you consistently
faded.

IV. Attachment
You wanted me unattached,
but being unattached
I walk away.

V. Conditionally Unconditional
My conditions are
presence
loyalty.
Sorry I lied about unconditional.

VI. Someone
You've got time for someone.
Not me,
but for someone.

VII. Simply Enough
I cannot give my time
for those who do not.

VIII. Giving
You can't ever
get
what you're not willing
to give.

IX. Complete
I love wholly.
I don't switch.
It's all
or nothing.

X. Home
I tasted home upon your lips
where you tasted distance.

XI. Lost
I lost a home.
Another place
I called my own.

XII. Closed Doors
I knocked.
I jiggled the ****.
No one ever answered.

XIII. Small Chapters
I was a page to you.
You were a chapter.

XIV. Discarded
A book forgotten upon a floor.
Pages torn, Chapter 1.

XV. Poetry
I turned you into poetry.
That's what you wanted,
right?

XVI. Past
I will write about you
long after you've been gone.

XVII. Self-Worth*
I may have lost you,
but you lost me too.
Been writing these for a while now. The theme was obvious, so I figured it best to try to put them together cohesively.
