saw a rainbow yesterday
from the side of a woman
looking at her sleeping eyes
hair flowing over my shoulder
thigh against thigh
saw the color burst
like the ecstasy last night
on the distance
a prism
into my pillow
I buried my head
looked up and it was still there
real the rainbow
next to me the most gorgeous
golden treasure
there at the end

Warmth is what we crave, our hearts fuel to the fire, caressing one another's flesh, taking each other higher, fight my bruising kisses, let me tease you as I mar, that which I do worship, every heartbeat, every scar, cage my hand inside yours, hold me tighter than you dare, constrict around my heart my love, it's open and it's bared.
For you, always.

I was never lonely until I met you
and now whenever your gone
loneliness consumes me

Backdropped by your setting midnight sun
This blackened tree of gnarled and crooked branches
Shorn of starlings nest or buds of leaves to bloom
Is but Mother Nature's abandoned child awaiting Proserpina's call
As its frayed ropeswing hangs unstirred and unmoved
A seat for two carved and formed of connecting crosses
One of breathing heart, of hope and purest salvation
One of loneliness, despair and decomposing isolation

For time has never seen right to pass our way
And I've long since stopped believing in some afterlife
Yet with you, i dream to reincarnate another life
Where everything is different yet nothing has changed
And I will seek you out, I will hunt you down if i must
I will choose your beating vibrant heart
Encapsulate it forever in that painted yellow sun
So connected crosses can dance as one before thy Spring is done
There is nothing quite like the feeling
Of having security, in love,

You always know where you stand
Whenever push comes to shove.

An infinite ocean
With no shore in site,

A beacon of guiding light
On the darkest scary night.

A rainbow that magically appears
To brighten a mentally hard,
Exhausting, challenging day,

A radiant, glowing sunshine
To keep you warm - come what may.

An umbrella
To keep you dry
Whenever bad weather may arise,

An abundance of pure love
Reflected from the most trusted eyes.

A tender loving embrace
That speaks volumes
Saying "I'm here,
I completely understand,"

Knowing that you will always have
A strong hand to hold
Whenever you feel all alone,
Or if you ever feel like your sinking
In quicksand.

There is nothing quite like the feeling
Of having security, in love,

A blessing,
A precious gift
Sent from Our Merciful God,
Up above.

on this day of winged hearts
and chocolates
one tends to write about their
"better half," their lovers or husbands

This is not one of those.
I have no better half
I am an entity whole.
Woman proud and complete
deep down strata of soul
this union
is held
by the thread of our children
tender shoots growing
in our shared care
and even that thread is frayed

I write this valentine's poem
for the love of myself
for the knowledge that
when I love myself first
and the universe will give
and I will snip
that thread
so begging to be snipped
and fly off into the winds,
my three moonbeams
in tow
always at my side
They will never
cease their growing
under my watchful eye

I will be loved
like I am supposed to be
whether by another
or only me
for I now know what I need
Slowly
layers unpeel
and each day
I am more ready
So take your little
fluttery paper hearts
that you never
gave me anyway
and paste them all
over your own
for soon you will find
you might
need them
Just had to be said
