I see stones upon the ground,
As I walk through this
Quite,
Silent,
Deathly,
Stillness place, Many have walked
Upon the ground I now
Walk upon many
Memories,
Thoughts,
Emotions,
Have fallen many times,
The ground always wet
As tears have fell like rain,
I see many
Names,
Dates
Frozen,
In time, there voices silenced
Never again to walk the land,
I walk upon the ground
As I leave a
Single,
Rose,
Petals,
Fall to the ground
This garden you eternally rest,
A place where there are stones upon the ground

My 2 Cents

“the advocacy of women’s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.”

Let me start by mentioning that I don’t usually get involved with political matters, but in this case, I’d say it’s more of a basic human rights matter.

I’m a man, and I’m a feminist.

I was lucky enough to grow up in a home with three women; my mother and two older sisters. Growing up with them gave me an enormous amount of respect for women, (even though I may have lost a certain amount of socially expected masculinity along the way), and their current lives continue to increase my respect for the opposite gender.

My oldest sister is leaving to study abroad at Oxford in less than a week to major in philosophy. Philosophy. She also graduated high school with a 4.0 and was involved in power lifting competitions and is enlisted in ROTC. Simply put, she’s an animal. She’s worked hard her entire life and I’d hate to see a world that put that hard work to waste.

My other sister is working three jobs to pay her way through college and is planning to major in psychology. I’m always envious of her work ethic and level of commitment to not only her education, but to her friends and family as well.

My mother has been my backbone since I was a child. She was always the one I turned to in times of trouble, and continues to be. She works hard everyday, while going through mentally straining marriage problems, and comes home and still asks me about my day. She has given me nothing but unconditional love for my entire existence.

For these reasons, it boggles my mind why anyone would ever be anti-feminism. I am genuinely confused as to why, because their bodies are different, women get less privileges, respect, opportunities, and even money. I just don’t get it.

I am also disgusted that women are seen by most men as walking ****** organs. l will admit genuine guilt to using the number scale to “rate” women. It’s something I grew up with, but now it sickens me. Assigning a number to a woman based on your misguided views on how she should look, whether you would **** her, is something I find repulsive. There’s nothing wrong with admiring the opposite ***, but no one gives a **** about your stupid opinion, especially the woman.

I hope someday if I ever have a daughter that she will have the privilege of living in a country of gender equality, tolerance, and open-mindedness.

Anyway, I just wanted to put my two cents in.

I am a man.

I am a feminist.

Peace.
This isn't a poem but it's something I'm passionate about and feminism could always use more support. Spread the word!

Our day ~ our beach ~ our love
~
As moments lazily pass, sighing breezes
*we sit silent ~ adrift as a single composed symphony

tempo’d by the rhythmic surf ~
  its constant sensuous flow
lulling our hearts, aching to collide
                  in one melodic breath
  ~
Horizons blush ~ love’s mist lingers
arms of cradling desire caress beauty ~ lone
of seashell mosaics  palm leaf shade ~
            cool murmurs on warm sand
Your silken lips offer a glistening enchantment~
their taste, salty pleasures of virginal mornings
~
Velvet waves entice ~ white foam illusions
drift quietly ~ carelessly ~ soothing
we too build and recede ~ filling our amorous needs
As a steady rising sun embraces an
          aquamarine sky,
you glow in effervescent shimmers at my touch
~
Our bond remains unbroken ~
tethered to an ocean’s hypnotic trance
     your body against mine ~
           skin upon glistening skin
merely to hold you ~ feel you~ kiss you
        is my coastal haven
~
Now as the fading light relinquishes its hold
& dusk splashes violet secrets on a weary sky ~
tides becomes a single motion within us
Our day ~ our beach ~ our love
                                 *shall forever be

Crane flies in my whiskey
In my good old mountain dew
Every time I take a sip
I swallow quite a few

Now I'm not complainin
About the ones that take a dip
Cos it means that I don't have to cook
Cos with every sip I take I eat a little bit

Problem is those skinny legs
A sticking in my throat
I really should stop camping
And seek a new life on my boat

Now look, I'm I'm not complainin
Cos they taste really great
But if I really had a choice
I'd choose a ribeye steak
The joys of camping

I often wonder
Just how easily do a pianist's fingers conform to their keys?
How do guitar strings feel to the talented in comparison to me?
Why are some more gifted as to how they handle a pencil?
And how can a few fortunate souls control their voice to create perfect sounds?
Why do some possess the wonderful abilities of feeling things better than I can?

In case you didn’t know, Kalypso’s father passed away a few days ago.
I just received an email from her and she asked that I express her appreciation to everyone on HP for their kindness.  So, I thought there would be no better way for me to do so than by posting her own words.

She wrote to me:

People have been so sweet and the messages I have received are just so kind. I never thought I would receive this type of reaction. I truly found a community of wonderful souls and I am so thankful for them all. I will post something saying this soon, but if you wouldn’t mind saying how deeply touched I am for everyone’s condolences and kindness…I would appreciate that. I just can’t find the words.

Kalypso
I think she found the perfect words.

A pool of reflection
Water,
Cascades,
In to the waters below
Names carved out
To the souls
Lost,
Gone,
Remembered,
These names will never
Be forgotten,
Forever etched in
Remembrance
Lives were saved,
Lives were lost
And the waters flow
Reflecting
Remembering
Names,
Etched for all time
A tribute to those souls lost.

This is a long poem, but well worth
the time, you'll find.

Marjorie picks up the phone,
She's quite sure that she's alone.
Punches in her "good friend's" number,
She's excited... it's no wonder!
Something naughty to convey,
Can't wait to tell, can't wait to say!
"Hello, Sally? Yeah... it's me!
I'm at the window, and guess what I see!
You know that ***** across the way?
She's with another man today!
Hannah's hubby, right next door.
Can you believe that little *****?!!
I'm telling you cuz I'm your friend
This wicked business has to end!
Wait a minute... there they go!
They're leaving! And I'll bet you know
Where they're headed, oh, you bet...

... a motel room is what they'll get!

-chorus-
Juicy fruit spills from the lips.
Open mouth, and out it slips.
Sweet as strychnine to the tongue
Where the poison apple's hung.
If you have nothin' nice to say,
We're all ears! Come our way!
There's a tale to be told,
Don't matter if you're young or old,
It's a secret on the block...

... if it's scandalous let's TALK!!!

Sally Jo hangs up her cell,
Calls a good "friend" as well!
"Hello, Jane, just talked to Marge,
Got some news, and it is LARGE!
You know that harlot up the street?
You'll never guess her latest meet!
Hannah's hubby! Oh, gee ****!
Can't BELIEVE this awful biz!
Marge told me, it can't be wrong,
They were KISSING on the lawn!
Then they drove off in his car...
They weren't going very far!
No-Tel Motel's where they're at.
Whatcha expect from an alley cat
Hannah's gonna flip her lid...

... I won't tell, so keep it hid...

-chorus-

The story spread around, of course.
Hannah's filing for divorce.
Then her hubby lost his job...

... as PASTOR of a CHURCH OF GOD

And the "*****"? Well. She died.
She committed suicide.

The REAL story was quite sad,
And I hope it makes you mad.
"Harlot's" son... he needed pills.
Guess no one knew that he was ill.
She wasn't goin' very far...

... and her pastor had a car.

Who's the culprit? Who's to blame?
Guess we all know her name.
Who's to count the tragic cost?
How many lives that lie had lost!
Her little boy went 'round the bend.
An alcoholic in the end.

The tongue can be a thing of praise,
Or ignite a mighty blaze!
So check you heart and check your mouth,
Make sure that it's not headin' south.
Kindness is joy in age or youth...

... you reap what you sow, and THAT'S the TRUTH!!!

Though willing hands are always there
To feed her, dress her, and brush her hair
Disease has crept through her with stealth
Some things just can't be stopped with wealth.

The frailty was quite slow at first
She couldn't fasten her shoes at worst
But then it weakened her gentle heart
And eventually it tore her life apart.

And though she prayed with all her might
She started soon to lose her sight
She fell down often and broke her hip
And life began to fade and slip.

In time she couldn't leave her bed
And dreamed her dreams of Christ instead
For she well knew he'd suffered worse
Than her small Earthly painful curse.

Now in her mind in fear she weeps
Her life but spent in fitful sleeps
She waits in hope for His Holy hand
To lead her to the Promised Land.
