When every sound
          becomes silent
and my eyes
        become useless,

You'll
find me
going
mad.
Sight and sound.
We take them for granted.

I sought Him in temples where anthems swell
Stained glass windows and polished sermons suave;
Yet here I knew He did not dwell,
While poor child of dust creeps to his grave.

I sought Him in churches rustic and plain
Eager to drown my heartfelt sorrow,
These mockery so futile and vain
As I searched for a brighter morrow.

In meadow alone, a breeze touched my face
Whispering of days bygone, yet still dear
When life flowed at a leisurely pace
And I felt His presence - O! so near!

Bittersweet weeping of the mourning dove
Awakens me to sad pleading eyes
Shattering my heart with vials of love.
Forsaken man and beast hold God's disguise.

I see Him in each rippling blade of grass
When dew of morn glistens with His tears.
In moaning of wind I hear Him pass
Through aromatic pines and lose all fears.

God does not dwell in temples made with hand,
But speaks to us through each soughing pine.
Proud wealthiest mansions o'er all the land
Mocked by His majestic Hand divine.

Just a note to say how much I appreciate you!
I used 10 words but I could use many more, to say how lucky I feel to have you my Hello Poetry friends, in my life. Today and everyday!

orange light glow across the bay
some ones home
small cottage
haven from the world
free from politics and war
the rough and tumble of the market
a solitary humble abode
breaking darkness this side of the hill
homely warm welcome little house

Frozen in layers of lemon drop frosting
Running for love on the snow covered lawn
Interest in all that this morning does offer
Entering each as if only a song

Dancing to dreams on the edge of tomorrow
Asking a question I hope will be true
Pausing a moment to glance your direction
Writing this poem while thinking of you

You are the reason I am
breathing, talking,
compassionate, and giving.
You've given me life
education, wisdom;
understanding.
We've been through our differences,
and at one point took our own paths...
But I'd like to believe
that all new roads traveled
will never be like the last,
although they
always seem
to bring you
right
back
home.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and moms-to-be.

this is where the spark of genius ignites
where the mind in fanciful flight
unrestrained by conventional thought
takes the unknown secret path

Still awake at half past midnight
Thanking God, there are no snore-y sounds tonight.
Up in the sky, above the dark horizon
there's  an ivory circle that peeks
from outside the window.
A perfectly round moon proudly shines on me...
Sends one's mind to a journey,
to a magical world called poetry
Where I am now seated comfortably ..
but why am I back to what keeps me awake at night?
Stealing precious hours of sleep...
etched in my mind...it surely is...
A face that has invaded my whole person
A name that can never be disregarded
or deleted...
Lines, words keep leaping
Out of my brain,
Urging me to record them all
In my head and on paper...
I reach for pen and paper,
wait, wait...I sense a distraction,
A diversion...
In the dark, I take a glimpse
shifting my eyes
towards the sky,
admiring the glow,
concentrating,
shocking myself further,
for, from my lips,
a tune suddenly burst forth:

"I see the moon and
The moon sees me
God bless the moon
And God bless me
Please let the light
That shines on me
Shine on the one I love..."

A kid's song, from long ago,
a fervent prayer it has become,
begging the One above...
a plea, for the one I love....

Not at all a distraction.....
For it has set free my good intention...

*I was a child last night, just scribbling, drawing moons, toying with words, lines and unfinished poems...
......not very deep thoughts from a playful child, on a playful night, but enjoyed every moment of it......

Pause before you say Life is unfair
Learn to make a single flower your garden
Master the art of saying No
Learn to keep curiosity under control.
Watch all your hopes shatter
Just to build them over again once more
Admire before you criticize
Get rid of that good-for-nothing ego.
Following rules or spontaneously living the moment
The choices are always yours
But like the great men always say
Be the change you want to see in the world.
Remind yourself of these things every day
And Ah! What a work of art you are
There is none on this planet
Who is just the kind of beautiful you are.
-Amy. Inspiration is everywhere.
