A fraud, I mistook you for a mystic and also took your word
How could I not, you sang my name and you sang like a bird
You kiss like a knight
And all your lies at first seemed white.
All mild, harmless, benign, small and inconsequential
But your ******* bohemian circle is still shallow and preferential
Small and inconsequential, that's what I am now
Small, no one can see me
but how?
how does one dissolve into nothing but still feel it all
No I'm not worthy of love, but still I hear her call
In the lonely night, the winds lonesome cackles
Scared and lonely, romantic shackles
I swear I ache and ache and once again ache
For the next time this hopeless heart of mine will break
God knows I ache and then ache some more
Wanting a man to leave me sore
But they just leave me sore.

You were my beginning.
My first of all firsts.
The totem pole
on which my life
was carved.
The original altar
on which
I worshipped.
The only altar.
How do I begin
when my beginning
is finished.

curlygirl
her heart beat too fast for him,
too hard and too loud.
he loved to dance to her rhythm,
but his arms could not hold
onto her for long,
could not stand the wildness
radiating from within her.
so she held her breath,
she rejoiced less and was quiet.
her bounding heart slowed to
a whisper
and quickened only when
beheld by him.
she missed the feeling of life
in her chest always,
and soon she herself
became a whisper,
enveloped in the cool silence
of his arms
where she slowly turns
instead of dances.

I Fell In Love With You**

I fell in love with you
slowly,
syllable by syllable,
word by word,
poem by poem
imagining the moon’s
dancing affair with stars,
twinkle by twinkle.
And then
all at once
like the explosion
of a super nova
affecting distant galaxies
and down to my very soul.
~~~
I fell in love with you gently,
the way a dew drop
glistens in the morning sun,
the way a flower often opens
to a moonlit song.
~~~
But like all love worth holding,
it turns to fire-
raging,
uncontrolled,
wild and consuming;
you have become the flames
dancing across my skin,
smoldering brightly
within my heart
turning me into the sweet smell of ash.
~~~
I fell in love with you
slowly
then quickly,
the way a meteor flashes
as it skims across the night sky
or hearts melt
within an ******* sigh.
I fell in love with you.
Sorry.
I don't know why
it just happens
then I find myself
hiding
wanting to hide my face
turn away
pretend it isn't real
I just let it be
knowing inside
or somewhere
it isn't right
it was never right
yet the pain is there
I don't know why
so many suffer
without speaking
but go on hiding
their shame, their scars
their pain
I know it well
as I've been there
scarred
inside and out
never again
to be whole
Yes
the pain is real
it happens every day
but to let it
is not by choice
The pains of physical or mental abuse
is sad. The person that does it
has no heart, or does he? (she)
It's real. It's out there. I was there once.
It isn't the victim's choice. Nor
was it mine.
Tonight I vow to forget your name
And drown your memory
In whiskey.
Tonight I vow to forget the way
Your lips tasted with
A pack of cigarettes.
Tonight I vow to forget your hands
And numb my own
With the cold.
Tonight I vow to forget you
For real this time
Like you forgot me.
"You always hurt the ones you love"
As if it makes it okay to.
Say words you know they hate
Leave for two hours in the heat of an
Argument
Yell and scream and fight and argue
Or push them into the coffee table
You do not hurt the ones you love
It's as simple as that
You do not leave when they need you
The most
You do not
Write, type, speak
Words, phrases, sayings, sentences that will break them
You do not break the ones you love
And if you do
And you happen to feel no remorse
Because
"You always hurt the ones you love"
Well then you never loved them
To begin with did you.
