Another day falling
from the crack of yesterday,

a patch of pearl
burning in the amber west
flaring up heaven
firing me up
in the pains of solitude
and poetry.

Home beckons through a dark way
where hope breathes eternal
as lanterns of moonlit leaves.

I won't mourn the loss
but fill all the void
with paper and ink.

I met this girl
Who couldn't speak,
But signed
And sighed she loved me.

With discerning taste,
Who held the virtue
Of human grace.

Who couldn't hear,
But felt me beat,
And knows my tears.

Who had the touch,
She wasn't one
To demand so much.

Who couldn't see,
Perhaps that's why

I didn't have to be with you,

Whenever someone cracks a joke
