The Untold
I loved what never belonged to me
A love so sweet
But so not right
A love so wide
Yet such a secret love
A love so broken
And still so captivating
A love so fake
But unbelievably bewitching
A love that never was
Which faded in the end
I lost what i learnt to love
And cried for what never was mine.

The day  has now gone here is the night
It's twelve o'clock all lights gone out
Not a single soul no one insight
We look out the window no one about.

Eyes are weary we are fighting sleep
Time to clime up that wooden hill
Waiting for us is the bed and sheets
Tired and drowsy sleep we will.

The evenings are colder
The frost here again
But we are much older
And our health's not the same

So as we head to that slumber land
And we dream our cares away
We pull up the blankets with our hands
And say goodnight to the day.
These cold nights a nice warm bed is welcoming.

around
    town down a corner
turn at the stop sign
       left
see the new blush
          of rust Orange
high upon the top
                 limbs
leaves one breathless
           Fall....

i loved how nothing ever bothered you
i loved that nothing ever mattered
until i realized that meant me too
then all my dreams were shattered

i loved how you talked so loud
i loved how you spoke the truth
until you used me for your own needs
then you stole away my youth

i loved that you smiled sweetly
i loved that you sang my name
until everything i had was gone
then i noticed your little game

I have not lived all my life
My ma and pa at the birth
misnamed me
I always say poor Curtis Melton
Died at only three days old
I am often amazed in wondering what his life would have been like

What’s in a name - shall we ever know?
To explain further ... I was named Curtis Melton for three days until my parents decided to change it - one can still see on the certificate of birth where the name is erased and typed in again!
