A mistake indeed,
That's what they called it.
Was it the burkha she wore?
Or that saree?
It was her fault completely.
Was it her clothing?
Or the fact that she was born?
How dare she board that bus
And travel along that lonely road.
**** was a consequence of leaving the house
Getting an education and being who you are.
From four to forty
No one they spared.
Their fault was that they existed
The ways of the human mind are twisted.
We go to our church, temple and dargah
But has disrespect for a woman,
Been taught by Quran, Bible or Veda?
It is time we take a stand,
Enough chances these men have had
It is time we said Beti Zindabad.

May
A mistake,
they whispered in their minds
but never said aloud.
A mistake,
it's all she was
they could never be proud.
A mistake,
that started a broken home
where love was rarely found.
A mistake,
that cost them their hopes and dreams,
yanked them off their cloud.
A Child,
who saw the hate and pain
locked behind their eyes.
A Child,
who couldn't make them happy
no matter how she tries.
A Child,
who yearned for love
left to sit alone and cry.
A Child,
who tried to understand
but couldn't figure out why....

Lost
Lost, within the vast expanse of time and space,
in the never ending story that is life.
Lost, with no sense of direction, and no star to guide,
haunted by fear, and blinded by pride.
Lost, in the darkness forever searching
for a time that will never come.
Lost, in false friendships, don't know who to trust,
open your secrets, then left in the dust.
Lost, with many decisions still left unmade,
things long forgotten that lead you astray.
Lost, in your thoughts unable to bare,
adrift in confusion found unaware.
Lost, amid the sea of lies and clouds of deceit,
endlessly drifting into the unknown.
Lost, in the carefree world of the past,
not sure of your future, unclear of your path.
Lost, yet your flame still burns,
just wait, the tables will turn.
Round em up 2 3 4
Out the window out the door
ITS A GAME!
Its all for fun!
Just count to
3 2 1
Shhhhh
Its a game
Go run and hide
But plug your ears
And hide outside
Daddy knows
Momma cried
Shhhhh
Count to "9"
"8"
"7"
Shhhhh
In your head
Its a game!
Those there are toy guns!
Nothing more!
"5"
"4"
Shhhh
Duck down
Round em up 2 3 4
Dont let them see you!
Its only a game
Shhhh
Mamma will be fine
Momma will sing!
Its just a game
Its called 'on the lamb'
3 2 1
Bang! Bang!
Bam!
Shhhhh
Its just a game...
