Your voice is a beautiful melody
It fills up a room
You could calm a riot
Or start a new Millennium
Everyone is silent
Except my beating heart because she is screaming in joyous cheer because instead of all that
you decided to
love me.

Nickols
The knifes are in the water,
there below, just beneath your feet.

The river flows with blood
of the sweetest innocents.

A mermaid escaping up stream,
against the current of the most importance.

So, where does this bottomless journey end?
This lost channel of endless hoping.

Two bodies of water,
intertwining into the everlasting waterfall.

A voyage down the rapids,
Falling...

Falling...

Falling...

Falling...

Down into the pits...There just below the waters.
Where I can rest my weary head.

The silence of the room, I sit and let my mind wander.
Things go wrong why should I even bother.
I think back to the night, I saw you across the room with her.
Kept finishing my drinks, til the night became a blur.
I believed the lies you told me.
Felt safe when you would hold me.
But it was all just an act, a scene in your play.
I played the fool, and regret it everyday.
The curtains are pulled, and every thing goes dark.
I sit and let my mind wander, as I slowly fall apart.

Abdosh A
A swift strike
Pierced an artery
While trying to manage
In want of shelter & cover
A ****** world we live in
In need of therapy to cope
To help keep hope
Despite the bombshell,
What do you think of hell
Something massive in size!
Would ash cover the sky!
Weather it feeds on flesh rather than coal
Would lava be like the child
Well, you might have guessed right
But you can never imagine what its like
In comparison,
Sit down & dwell
How it might be like
To live in hell

Hilda
Sometimes when ev'ning lamps are ebbing low
And all the earth lies hushed in solemn sleep
Within my lonely heart there burns a glow,
As lengthening shadows about me creep.

My weary glance falls o'er the dismal room
Where with rapturous eyes I seem to see
Beyond thick cobwebs, dust and direst gloom
A merry host of friends-my own library!

Worn musty books on shelves from olden days,
Brittle pages yellowed by hands of time,
Illuminating night with gladsome rays,
Lifting my bleak spirit to realms sublime.

Trooping merrily before my rapt gaze
Into flick'ring lamplight I watch them come,
Quaint men and ladies of forgotten days;
Golden laughter echoing in my home.

Into my eyes they smile, murm'ring with grace
Aerial speech they blithely chat with me,
They seem to belong to another race
Wakening in my heart sweet melody.

Dying lamplight sputters and they are gone.
Vanished! I stare about but find I none
Save a drowsy thrush flutes with hush of dawn
Only myself in the parlour alone.

The pain is felt
As she, the preeminent archeologist knelt
Before the porch
And the holder of the torch

Of a land, once beautiful
Protected by the dutiful
Vibrant cultures which would fall with a thud
A price paid with disease and blood

From this would rise a new culture
The ancient morsels scavenged by this vulture
Manifest destiny was the rule of the land
Smothered and choked by a cold hand

Created by terror, torture and fears
Remaining in place for hundreds of years
A promise of liberty and justice, but not for all
The reason for this culture's eventual fall

This was not the story her digs appeared to tell
For liberty was the name of that cracked bell
Hymn's proclaiming the land of the free
And a constitution that begins with "We..."

As she gazed towards the sky
She could not fathom why
What on earth made this lady cry?

"Give me your tired, your poor"
Welcoming all upon her shore
This was the message upon her door

Gazing upon her once hopeful eyes
She soon began to realize
Perhaps, they were not all knowing and wise
And for too long believed their own lies

It was this realization
Of this ancient nation
Which helped her see
The tears shed by she
This lady...

This was inspired by Lupe Fiasco's "Unforgivable Youth", which I think is a truly powerful piece and I recommend it as a listen, or a read.  It is extremely thoughtful and deep, at least in my most humble opinion.  The words/music created a film in my mind and the ending I saw in that visual  inspired this poem.  I hope U enjoy it.  Live 4 Love

Me and You
Holding
  My fingers
To my brain
It hurts-
    Framing my face, my head
       Encircling inner horrors
          And still –
For all there is, for all the dread-
I still don’t care.
I’m not good at being forward
I have this habit of becoming disordered
I let my emotions change the color of my sleeve
In my aspirations I hope to find belief
I walk through jungles and rainforests
Once in a while I see through the canopy
Into the skies of my memories
And request that stars dance to the rhythm of us
I keep them alive to avoid the gathering of dust
My memories, caught in the Pensieve of your eyes
Have ignored all the times I told myself lies
I may not be your ideal Superman
But I’d accept Peter Pan if you’ll go with me to Neverland
I’ve rarely been so captivated by a girl
Sure, Zooey Deschanel is quirky in New Girl
And Emma Watson bewitched me from the start
Anna Kendrick was perfect in Pitch Perfect
Alex Morgan is the luckiest 13 I’ve ever seen
But I choose you! To fill my canteen
You quench my thirst when the loneliness dries me
I was not made to walk in a desert
My heart is an amphibian
Living like a Floridian in the ice-cold tundra we call Rexburg
You still need the sun, no matter how much it snows
I’ll trudge on in the jungle; dormant in the night
I’ll carry on with you in mind, until the time is right
Once I’ve faced death, or even a spider
Then, I think I’ll top the greats; George of the Jungle, Aslan, Mogly, Tarzan, Batman, Peter Pan, Harry Potter, Genghis Kahn, Michael… Jackson or Jordan
They’re all kings and I’ll be in their league
As I shake off the fatigue and find courage in you
To make it through the awkward moment of simply saying
“You’re a real kind of gorgeous”
In that chorus, played on my rhythm of heartbeats
I found my way out of the back streets
From deep in the jungle I’ve come to know as Fear
A jungle that disappears when your presence is near
Sometimes I have to stop walking, stop thinking
I feel like I’m on the verge of something spectacular
Anything normal might ruin that
