I don't need you*
And I never have*
I was just a little confused

My life thus far is not
Defined by my timestamps
I am the negative and positive space
That fills the void between my numbers
Some people are "numbers guys"
I, myself, am a "a-let's-see-what-the-hell-is-in-store-next girl"
So **** the timestamp

Keith Wilson
And  when  his  usefulness  had  gone.
They  just  cast  him  aside.
And  on  the  final  downhill.
He  began  to  slide.

Rejected  after  all  his  work.
Visions  now  all  gone.
He  knew  full  well  his  time  was  near.
He  knew  he  had  not  long.

As  an  old  man  disillusioned.
And  weary  from  his  fight.
He  spent  in  sad  remembrance.
His  final  lonely  night.

Perhaps many of us don't realize
  That life
Harbors secrets and lessons around every corner
  But also harbors many disappointments
Each lie spewed like venom is poison to the tongue
But each accomplishment is sweet upon the lips
Many moments are wasted and taken for granted
But that's not true for some
Eventually the human race will understand
  That life is just about
Fairy tales and make believe or misery and agony
It's a bittersweet mixture of both
With dashes of hope and pinches of despair
  It's a perfect recipe
For honesty and for dares
I wrote this poem with my 11 year old brother. He wrote the italic lines (with a bit of help from me for flair). This is his first shot at poetry

Dragons on a wing
Mid-afternoon
Purple and yellow blood
In empty fields

Release me
These chains that bind me in
Bog me down
And hold me back

Release

Dragons in the deep
And waiting
Dragons in the sky
That soar too high

And me
Relief
Coils serpentine
With own belief

Release

The last of dragons slain
By hateful menace
Seek fame and regard
Reward of gold

Release
Release me
From these tedious schemes
And this blood

They never gave a ****.
A silhouetted master plan,
A shadow of a man,
Summons a feeble grasping hand.

A grip that's none too tight,
Sand slips through fickle fingers' sight.
Hour glasses and tricks of the light.
The hand of time, immovable might.

Despite of

Inspite of?

Rivers and oceans in our minds
Defy, turn the tide, divide.
Ox bow truths and eroded lies.
Mountain streams serenade the blind.
And those unwilling to see.
Blinkered to the plight of man.
Banned from the light of eternity.
Don't touch, feel.
Don't hope, trust.
Don't frown, smile.
Don't plan, do.
Don't think, wonder.
Don't dream, achieve.
Thoughts from a long bus journey home

Day without night
Is as pointless as
Me without you
