We lay in the soft grass

picking out shapes in the white fluffy clouds
as they wander across

a brilliant blue sky

You gaze above and whisper
“I have never seen anything more beautiful”

I stare at their reflection in your eyes and say,

“Neither have I”
Compact Poem Series

I write these poems
for only one reason
I don’t care the day
or the time or the season

If flowers are blooming
or skies are bright blue
If meadowlarks sing midst
the fresh morning dew

If butterflies float
on a warm summer breeze
Or moonlight reflects
off of calm evening seas

If snow flurries fall
ever soft on the ground
Or musical whispers
are flitting around

If day turns to night
or night turns to day
If it starts to rain
washing it all away

If the sunrise is coming
or stars glow above
I write these poems
so she knows she is loved
Ok, I know this isn't one of my best but
sometimes you just need to tell her she is loved, because...she is.
The Ocean Blue
Salty like the tears of you
To restore my love what can I do?
For a cloud soars over the deep
*O' I weep
O' I weep!
Just a poem I came up with today
This is my story
I apologize cause
Its going to be boring

Thats ok cause
This stanza is
Not important
And my mind is like a depressant

Talking about my
Wars
Not to mention the
Scars and Sores

You aren't interested
But my brain with these thoughts
Is infested
Also came up with this one
When I was eight
At the park

Playing football
Getting dark

Older kids
Stole our ball

I can't stand bullies
Not at all

Then out of the blue
Three more kids appear

Did I mention they're black
So now I felt fear

But to my surprise, they said
Give the ball back!

What's going on?
I thought they were black

This confused my young mind
From all I was told

Stay away from the blacks
Or you'll never grow old

That one little act
Fifty years ago now

Changed the way I see color
Changed my vision and how

Today I was out
With my eight year old son

God, how I love him
We're having such fun

Then I see someone starring
No, it's more like a glare

I can't be that ugly
It must be my hair

Then an old thought creeps in
From way, way, way, back

She's glaring at us cause
I'm white, and he's black

So my prayer for this world
And I hope you don't mind

Is the day we can say
We're all color blind!

Amen
All true!
she chooses to remain beautiful,
although life has scarred her so horrifically inside...

...a phenomenal woman she is ❤

panorama spits
daintily, hard puddles howl
peacefully sluggish
Tickle me
Into subconscious frenzy
Then glide along my
Charged surface
Where I'll guide your way
Along each changing tide
Which becomes me
