A bird

How free?

Trace flight

Track toes-

Quill scratch

Feather cap

Gilt cage

Wing flap

Beak chirp

Egg nest

Chick gape

Dawn lust

How free

Can bird

Or bee?

Retrace the flight

Of a wild
White goose

From landing place

To lonely source

$moke and acid
like ghosts in the rain
in the ghetto in the can
never to be seen
together again
on the streets
on the pain
blood in blood out
Dollar$ and white pipes
curses on *******.

You

My Dear Poet
You can take
every part
of my heart
the truth
and the lies
every page
from the start
but please
give me
your eyes

You can steal
my will
every seal
of my soul
every piece
of the whole
take my breath
and my sighs
but please
give me
your eyes

You can take
every chapter
for free
every part
you can see
what lives
and what dies
but leave
me your eyes
please

take all
you can find
from the lines
of my mind
to every piece
you can break
leave nothing
behind
so may I
for my sake
make your eyes
mine
I need you to see
every part of me
you take

Sarah Spencer
some people think
writing a sentence
and hitting enter
a hundred times
is poetry

but poetry is
that on-the-edge-of -your-seat rollercoaster ride
that only goes up,
that ending ******* all pretty with a bow,
that washes you with a wave of emotions,
the crumple of paper and the smell of ink
that hits your nose as you sit on your bed,
dreaming so hard you can see the stars in your eyes.
No, poetry doesn't just scratch the surface,
with simple, shallow words,
poetry makes you feel emotions
you didn't' know existed.
I don't know if you guys will understand the poet I am referencing, but if you don't, that's okay. This poem can stand alone by itself
